FashionParty like it’s…

Ring in the New Year with a little swing of your dress — and this is the perfect LBD to do it in! By Foley for Foley + Corinna, this light-as-air 100% silk-chiffon mini dress is trimmed in heavy pearl detail around the neck, straps and lastly, the racerback — simple, but an undoubtedly dramatic feature. Slight ruching gives the dress shape and hints at sexy curves underneath. It just truly looks festive paired with a pair of satin sandals and a gorgeous glass of champagne!

Available for purchase at for $429.

BeautyBest of Beauty 2006

The lovely and fabulous Annie of Blogdorf Goodman has organized a dedicated day (obviously today!) for bloggers to write about the beauty products that they fell in love with in 2006 — and has so graciously invited us to participate. So I’ve pulled together a list of ten products (listed in no particular order) that I’ve become obsessed with in the past year – though many are not new, just ones that I’ve finally discovered or tried:

1. Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer by Laura Mercier
2. Lash Perfection by MaxFactor
3. Lip Glaze Sticks by Stila
4. Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox
5. Lavender Mosquito Repellent Towelettes by L’Occitane
6. NouNou Pak by Davines
7. Dual Action Moisturizer by Clean & Clear
8. Shampoos by Bumble & Bumble
9. Baies Candles by Diptyque
10. Perfume Oil by Kai (to be reviewed soon)

Why are these products my favorite finds from 2006? Read READ MORE

Accessories, Jewelry, ObsessionsStarfish Gold

Right now, I am completely obsessing over the jewelry by designer Katharine Sise. For instance, this floating powder blue topaz pendant reminds me of the color of shallow tropical ocean water. The delicate and darling textured starfish gold charm adds to the seawater feel. Knotted and linked onto a 14K goldfill 19 inch chain, this piece is utterly charming and absolutely timeless. Best of all? It’s totally affordable, priced at only $175. Available at Azalea Boutique.

P.S. I am still catching up on any emails sent over the holidays, so please be patient and you’ll receive an answer soon!

FashionAll day, all night…

This grape-hued dress by Lewis Cho is the perfect dress for transitioning from day to night. A little vintage inspired, this empire waisted dress features a pretty V-neck for a hint of the always alluring decolletage. To balance the sexy neckline, it has demure-looking 3/4 length sleeves and a knee-length skirt. The best thing about this dress are the subtle details, like the barely there dotted print on the purple silk or the waistline accented with a teeny button. A little bit vintage secretary, a little bit understated modernity… it all adds up to an irresistible charm. Pair with ballet flats for day or peep-toe heels for night!

Available for $270 at La Garçonne.

FashionHappy holidays!

We will be off for the three day weekend and will return on December 26. Best wishes and hope all of you have a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with your loved ones!

P.S. Be sure to return on the 26th to tell us about the fashionable gifts you received!

Beauty, MakeupLip Gloss by Trish McEvoy

Despite all my grumblings about the stickiness of lip gloss, it seems that I actually am growing to like them more and more. Who knew that was going to happen?

Anyway, I’ve had the Lip Gloss by Trish McEvoy in Simply Glamourous for quite some time, but only recently have been wearing it on a semi-regular basis. Though this lip gloss comes in an variety of colors, I picked Simply Glamourous because it’s a pale pinky shimmery color, perfect for putting over another lip color or simply wearing it by itself for a natural, glossy look.

Upon application, this lip gloss is quite shiny and sheer, without being overly sticky. Just a little will make your lips look like those magazine beauty editorials. Seriously! Plus, it has staying power, even after eating; this makes re-application far and few in between, allowing for you to use less product. Just note that this does not taste good, so don’t lick your lips too often (which you shouldn’t do anyway since it’ll dry out your lips) or wear it when your significant other is around. Still, I would pick this over many other glosses…but try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Buy this for $22 at Neiman Marcus.

FashionKaroo for the holiday hostess

Too busy playing hostess to shop for yourself? With the whirlwind of activity during the holidays, it’s not always easy to find something that looks completely effortless and chic. If you want style without the fuss, then this Karoo Mark Eisen top is exactly what you need. Done in 100% cashmere, this luxurious sweater is definitely easy, light and relaxed. The babydoll loose fit is flattering, no matter what body type you are, and is drapey in all the right places. So soft and so sexy, just throw this on with a pair of slim black pants and fabulous strappy heels and you’ll be ready to party!

Buy this at Azalea Boutique for $319.

FashionMint crop

Cropped jackets are popping up everywhere and are a perfectly lovely alternative this winter to the traditional bevy of trenches, peacoats, etc. This Mint short-sleeved cropped jacket is my pick as a gorgeous way to stay warm, as does New York Magazine‘s fashion editor Kendall Herbst. With asymmetrical snap closures and an oversize button collar, this black wool felt jacket is absolutely lovable. Layer over basic tissue thin long sleeve tees right now and wear with tailored bermudas in spring.

Available at for $330.
