FashionCashmere Wonder

I’m desperately searching for more sweaters to keep me cozy during the cold season, and I’m absolutely enamored by this cashmere scarf cardigan by AKA New York. Made from 100% cashmere, this genius creation includes a detachable scarf and a belt. The 6-button closure and front patch pockets is classic; yet, the detachable pieces let you wear in at least 10 ways. It’s available in both gray and navy; I’ll take one of each please! Right now, it’s on sale for $327.60 (originally $468) at Not exactly cheap, but think about how much wear you’ll get out of it.

Note: We’ll be taking a brief break starting Dec. 31, returning Jan. 2. Have a marvelous time ringing in the New Year and see you in ’08!

FashionSlouch Away

Currently, I’m really loving the look of slouchy pants. This pair by Golden Goose is inspired by the traditional menswear tuxedo pant. Made of 100% wool (perfect for keeping you toasting during the winter months), it has a loose, but sophisticated fit. However, it’s the details that set this pair of paints apart. Ribbons along the seams, back buckles, a secret change pocket and suspender buttons on the waistband…yet, it still remains crisp and clean. I’d love to throw this on with a basic tee and colorful flats for the weekend, or a jacket like this for work. Available at La Garconne for $495.

BeautySassy at Seven

This might be the most adorable beauty video we’ve ever seen. Made by the 7 year old cousin of fellow beauty blogger, Mostly Makeup, it’s a cute and sassy video on how to put on makeup! (She sounds so proper and endearing, you won’t be able to stop giggling.)

FashionInspired To Party

If you’re looking for something spectacular to wear for New Year’s, try this Rowan Dress by Nicholas K. Clearly inspired by the roaring 1920’s, the gorgeous rust-hued silk dress features a beaded cutout sleeve and neckline. The low scoopneck in the back is a sexy accent, while the lovely curved hem at the skirt is very elegant. Throw your hair up into an chic twist, put on some sparkly heels and a huge cocktail ring…and party all night long!

Available at Le Train Bleu for $457, but get 25% off by entering “DAILYCANDY.”

Every year Luxury SpaFinder compiles a list of trends for the upcoming year and they’re always spot on with their predictions. We’re looking to their fabulous spa beauty editor, Melisse Gelula, for the top 10 beauty trends will shape the industry in 2008. You can view the entire article at or just view it below!

Luxury SpaFinder’s Top Ten Spa Beauty Trends to Look For in 2008

1) Tress Relief – Scalp massages are upgrading to full-length spa treatments for relaxation. (They may also stimulate hair growth.) Spas such as Ole Henriksen in Los Angeles include hair conditioning in many of their body treatments. Why should spa services stop at the hairline?

2) PDA’s For Skin – The Zeno zit zapper and Clarisonic face-washing brush will be joined by heap of new at-home beauty appliances. Many will mimic the mechanics of spa-grade gadgets, like the Mini-Marvel, which uses LED light to diminish wrinkles, acne, and blotches. READ MORE

Beauty, MakeupLight Up Your Eyes

Everyone knows that little trick about putting a highlighter or pale liner at the inner and outer corners of your eyes. It widens and brightens the eyes up instantly, making you look fresh and awake. But it’s not always easy to find a complimentary hue (white liner is too harsh) or user-friendly medium (traditional pencils are a bit too pointy) to achieve this look.

Cargo’s Eyelighter in Gold seems to solve both those conundrums. The Eyelighter looks like your typical double-ended highlighting stick…but it’s so much more! One end is rounded with a light gold shimmering shadow, intended for the inner corners of your eyes. The other end has a softly defined point and contains matte pale gold shadow to brighten up the outer corners. The silver pen is slim, perfect for throwing into your bag if you have an event after work. What I like about this product is that it’s almost foolproof to use. Just apply light pressure to the points and if needed, blend gently with your finger. (But just in case, there’s a handy dandy how-to if you need any help with application.) This tool isn’t about precision, but for those who want to achieve the look painlessly.

I was actually quite surprised the first time I tried it because I’ve tested many highlighters before…and most seem to fail in one way or another. This one made my eyes look instantaneously brighter and actually stayed put for a fair amount of time. Plus, it takes about 1 minute to apply and blend in the morning, which is a total bonus – because the less time I spend on my face, the more time I can spend sleeping in my cozy warm bed.

Retails for $17 on the Cargo Cosmetics website.

HomeBubbling InsideOut

Whether you are throwing a gigantic bash or keeping it cozy and quiet for two, New Year’s is a time to celebrate – and you can can count on champagne to be part of it. Step up the stemware this year with the captivating Champagne Glass Set from AlissiaMT‘s InsideOut Collection (available at Charles & Marie for $60).

Sip your bubbly from this unique glass, which provides the illusion of a floating champagne flute when filled. The outer shape will keep your drink from warming…and plus, there’s the amazingly cool visual that your loved ones will be fascinated by. “Where did you get that?” will be the most asked question of the night.

Beauty, Makeuptarte we wish you health

Tarte Cosmetics’ “We Wish You Health” set claims that it contains everything you will need to look great this holiday season. The “skinvigorating” 4 piece set includes a mini clean slate face primer, mini lock&roll creaseless eyeshadow duo (shade: slate), a mini mascara, and a mini vitamin infused lipgloss in their new shade serenity- all wrapped up in a mini cosmetics pouch.

My favorite part of this kit is the face primer. To be honest, I don’t usually use primer but since I got this kit, I’ve been using the mini primer. This silicone based formula goes on super smooth and evens out the skin’s surface immediately letting your foundation glide on easily. I’m usually hesitant on using primer because I don’t like the idea of more things clogging up my pores, but tarte’s formula is made with a ton of natural ingredients and is dermatologist tested. I haven’t noticed any breakouts. READ MORE
