Martini Park

In a few weeks, I’m doing what most lifelong New Yorkers fear: leaving the city behind and moving somewhere new. My new home? Chicago! I was in the windy city last weekend looking for apartments and got to explore a great new spot with the perfect summer drink.
Martini Park is a new bar/lounge in the River North area, brought to you by the creators of Light at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and Marquee in NYC. Like its name suggests, Martini Park has an extensive drink menu with a variety of martinis. I found the perfect summer drink in the Cucumber Martini ($12), which is made with Skyy Melon vodka, cucumber essence, fresh lime, and a cucumber wheel garnish. The drink is cool, refreshing, and light–great for cooling down during a hot summer night.
In terms of the lounge itself, on Saturday night, the sizable crowd at Martini Park was a fun, eclectic mix of people from young professionals to thirty- and forty-somethings. There are 3 bars spread across a large space, so it never seemed too packed despite the big crowds. Behind one of the bars was a small stage where live music was playing all night. In all, Martini Park makes for a sophisticated place to enjoy cocktails and conversations.
Martini Park is located at 151 W. Erie St. at LaSalle. For more information, visit the website at martinipark.com/chicago.
It’s exciting to explore a new city, but I would also love to hear from true Chicago people. So here’s a call to all midwestern and Chicago TDO readers: please send your tips over to chicago@thedailyobsession.net and let me know where to eat, what to see, and most importantly, where to shop!
