Holiday Gift Guide 07: Cheap & Chic

Editors’ Note: This year, we put together 7 holiday gift guides that’ll make you want to shop ’til you drop. We spent hours carefully editing through hundreds of products to bring you the best of the best. Over the next few weeks, the guides will reveal themselves…starting today!

We’ve all been there – it’s holiday season and for some reason or another, you need to pinch those pennies this year. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t buy a divine gift for your loved ones! We came up with 6 fabulous ideas under $25 that are so chic that the recipient will think it is worth 10x more. Let’s get started, shall we?

ONE. Who doesn’t love a pair of earrings? These crystal studs by Viv & Ingrid are the perfect stocking stuffer for any fashionista friend. Each pair is made of sterling silver posts with tiny 2mm CZ crystals. These must-have earrings are incorporated onto a holiday card and is perfectly packaged with a festive gift box. You can choose from a variety of cards (wreaths, snowflakes, etc.) and colors (ruby, sapphire, yellow topaz, etc.). At only $12, we think they are a complete steal!

TWO. For the insomniac on your list, we love these gorgeous sleep masks by Cris Notti ($20). The patterns are really gorgeous, and the silk backing makes them every bit as luxurious as your friend deserves. Our picks are the Moroccan Tangerine and Wonderland patterns, but the beauty of this gift is you can pick the pattern that would sing to your recipient (even if that means buying the faux leopard version). For a really perfect bedtime gift, we’d suggest pairing this with a box of chamomile tea or maybe this lavender pillow mist. She’s sure to thank you for many sleep-full nights to come.

THREE. These gift sets by Pacifica are just the thing for the perfect hostess or for someone that you know could use some R&R. They come packed with a beautiful soy candle, yummy body butter and a bath soap, in a gorgeous gift box (hurrah for not having to gift wrap!) – all for $24.95. There are four scent options available. We’re obsessed with all of them, we have to admit…but the Tuscan Blood Orange and Mediterranean Fig are our top choices for holiday gifts.

FOUR. What domestic diva doesn’t love sprucing up her home? Our search for such an individual usually begins at CB2.com, which always offers modern, chic pieces. This season, we’re ordering this double-duty cylinder glass concoction. As a candleholder, it will suspend a pillar candle to elegantly warm your recipient’s home through the chilly weather. Invert the piece and it instantly transforms into an open-ended vase, ideal for loosely holding flower blossoms, etc. anytime of year. The price? An affordable $19.95.

FIVE. Well-known for their whimsical and modern paper goods, we’re giving items from Linda & Harriet to our favorite co-workers. The 2008 Calendar is our personal pick, which your officemates can tack on their walls all year long. Each 6″ x 6″ calendar is letterpressed with their newest cheery designs and topped off with a striped red ribbon that begs to be hung. Best of all…they’re only $20!

SIX. We stumbled across these Claus Porto Luxury Guest Soaps while out shopping and immediately thought, “Wow, what a fantastic, luxurious gift!” When we turned over the gold box, we were very surprised to note the $19 price tag. If you are unfamiliar with Claus Porto, here’s a brief intro: Claus Porto is a Portuguese beauty brand known as one of the best soap making factories in the world. Each soap is milled 7x to prevent cracking, while the infused fragrances are sourced from the South of France. Each soap is “produced from coconut oil and enriched with shea butter to moisturize, protect, and replenish the skin’s natural protein complexes.” The boxed set features fifteen rounds, three of each scent. Our favorite is the “Cool” assortment, which smells as good as it looks. We’re stocking up and gifting these to our favorite hostesses and friends!

Ooh la la! What a great set of ideas. The calendar is adorable, and apologies in advance for rhyming, affordable. New to this blog and just started a new job in marketing, so I’ll actually have moolah to buy gifts this year! Somebody is getting that calendar from me, so they better get excited..
