Denim & Jeans, FashionAristocrat Denim

We’re very picky about our denim. There are very few brands that we think are worthy of purchasing. So when we find a new denim brand that we like, it’s definitely worth writing about.

Aristocratic Denim was put on our radar within the last couple months and after viewing the collection, we find ourselves obsessed. Founded by denim pioneer, Bob Bak, Artistocrat is all about “blending craftsmanship, technology, and most importantly, style.” Before launching Aristocrat in Spring 2007, Bak worked for brands such as Chanel, Diesel, Cavalli and Kenzo where he was “hired to create the style, wash and look of the denim line based on each designer’s vision.”

Each jean employs numerous subtle slimming techniques to lengthen and slim the leg while creating clean lines. The front of the jeans also feature a flat panel to prevent bulging. Put a pair on and you’ll be able to see the effects of Bak’s efforts. For those of you who are eco-conscious, you’ll be happy to know that the fabrication, dye, and dye processes are completely green (they even use purified water!). We love the timeless washes that work from day to night; the fabric is also quite substantial, which we find to be a huge problem with many denim brands these days. The fabric is also “dermatologically-tested, luxury organic polymers that are free of enzymes, tallow and phosphate commonly found in skincare products.”

We find that all the Aristocrat styles reflect a classic sophistication. You can choose from cuts like the Windsor (bootcut) or Kent (straight leg), both of which are must-haves in every woman’s closet. We’re also in favor of the “Tinsley” style, which is named after Tinsley Mortimer. (W Magazine wrote a little blurb about these jeans on their blog.) This pair of wide leg jeans fit like a dream. They make thighs look skinnier, since the leg falls straight to create a nice long, lean line. They’re wide without overwhelming and are perfect with a pair of stacked heels. The Tinsley jean retails for $215, but lucky for you, it’s is currently on sale for$108 at

Trust us, try on a pair and we guarantee that you’ll fall in love. For more information about Aristocrat or to find your nearest retailer, visit
