New York Fashion Week AW08: Behnaz Sarafpour

Behnaz Sarafpour’s fall collection never seemed to follow one unifying theme and left me feeling mostly unmoved either way. I didn’t hate or love this show, it felt disjointed, and that was disappointing. Her signature style of simply cut dresses and coats were ever present, but so were a number of dresses and sweaters that had unflattering, almost chunky silhouettes to them. I liked her long black belted coats and the dresses with floral prints and appliques. However, the last looks of the show, a series of dresses with tiered ruffles, were unimpressive. At least there weren’t any plaids here.
