New York Fashion Week FA08: Jenni Kayne

Style.com called Jenni Kayne’s fall ’08 collection a mixture of grunge and 1940s-inspired menswear. I saw more of an 80s influence than 40s, but to be honest, I had a hard time coming up with any sort of cohesive theme for Kayne’s fall line.

Overall, this was a tough collection for me to fully appreciate, though there were a few inspired pieces mixed in. My picks were the stunning, full-length color-block jersey gown, a striking take on the classic double-breasted suit, and a beautifully tailored (if otherwise unremarkable) long, black boatneck column dress.
