New York Fashion Week FA08: Vera Wang

It seems like every season, Vera Wang’s collections start to look more like her closet. Her fall ’08 line was filled with items that could easily have been snatched right out of her wardrobe. The problem with that is that Vera’s style is very…Vera. Not everyone can pull off endless layers, leggings under absolutely everything, and generally shapeless clothing. Nor do they want to. But for die-hard fans of Vera’s personal style her fall collection should be a dream come true.

For the rest of us, there were a couple of really gorgeous evening dresses and some beautifully tailored all-black ensembles. We did see that burnt sienna/pumpkin color in a few places in the show, however – that’s definitely the color to watch for fall. But as a collection, there was very little to tempt my wallet.
