Packet my SPF!

Finally, sunscreen comes in a packet! The Powerful Sun Protection SPF 30 Sunscreen Packettes ($42) by MD Skincare are totally ingenious. Let’s get to the claims: it’s “the only sunscreen that addresses the increased risk of sun damage associated with iron left on the skin by tap water, perspiration and found naturally in the skin.” Developed by Dr. Dennis Gross, this product utilizes chelators to encapsulate iron and ultimately, it combats collagen breakdown and skin cancer. It also contains the following key ingredients:
- Chelator – Encapsulates iron left on the skin by tap water, improving efficacy of sunscreen
- Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) – Broad range protection against skin aging-UVA rays
- Octinoxate & Octisalate – UVB sunscreens
- Oxybenzone – A potent sunscreen that absorbs UVA rays
- Green Tea – Natural antioxidant; may reverse sun damage
- Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q-10) – Antioxidant that protects against free radicals
- Vitamins A, C, E – Potent antioxidants that prevent collagen breakdown
- Phospholipids – Natural substance that draws moisture from the air and seals it into the skin
- Emblica (Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract) – An all-natural herb with highly effective antioxidant properties
I’ve become sort of addicted to this fabulous little product. Simply, this is a towelette that’s packed with sunscreen. Run it over anywhere you need coverage. I use this most frequently mid-day over my arms, hands and decolette to minimize sun damage while driving. The sunscreen is weightless and non-sticky, which is perfect for any person on-the-go. Honestly, everyone needs to have one of these convenient packets in their purse (or car, pocket, wallet, etc.) all the time.
