Healthy, Radiant Teeth

This past March, Crest came out with its first toothpaste whitening system: Healthy Radiance. I got my hands on a kit a few weeks before the retail launch and have been exclusively using it twice a day, everyday since. One of my obsessions is finding ways to get whiter teeth, so this was one research project I was happy to undertake.

Crest Healthy Radiance is a toothpaste and whitening strip combination system. The stripes whiten teeth, and the toothpaste helps maintain as well as strengthen the enamel that may have been weakened by bleaching. One tube of toothpaste has lasted me more than 2 months and the strips come in a 4 week supply (1 per week).

My teeth are whiter and they are definitely brighter, but don’t expect professional results from this at-home kit. I didn’t really notice changes in my own teeth until about the 4th week into using this system – just as I was finishing up the last strip. Luckily, I had another set in my bathroom, so I opened it and continued to use the weekly strips even though my original toothpaste wasn’t done yet. The last time I used a Crest whitening system was when the original strips first came out, years and years ago, so I can’t really compare. Crest claims that this system whiten 4x better -Â which I suppose makes sense if only 4 applications of the whitening strip yields similar results to the old nightly applications.

The results aren’t earth shattering, but they are there. But what I really like about this system is the toothpaste, which does seem to counteract any sensitivity experienced by using the strips. A lot of people tell me that their teeth are really sensitive to bleaching and even though I do feel that sensitivity after using one of the strips, it tends to go away after brushing a couple of times. This is the biggest plus about Healthy Radiance and what sets it apart from other teeth whitening systems I’ve tried.

If you’re looking for drastic whitening, go visit your dentist, but I think Healthy Radiance is perfect for maintaining professionally whitened results. Definitely an unbeatable product for $12 – and you can even grab a $2 off coupon off Crest’s website.
