Huiles & Baumes
I’m always on the lookout for natural and organic beauty products, and Space.NK carries a great exclusive line that I recently had the chance to test out. Huiles & Baumes is a French line of entirely 100% natural and organic skin care products. All products are free of parabens, preservatives, PEGs, colorants, synthetic perfumes, and petroleum products. Huiles & Baumes was developed by Maximiliano Bustos, an original member of ECOCERT. (Of course, all the products are certified organic by ECOCERT!) The product line focuses on taking advantage of the therapeutic benefits of natural oils and uses recyclable packaging.
Huiles & Baumes products are categorized by their specific purposes: Purifying, Protecting, Toning, Smoothing, Nourishing, and Relaxing. The stand-out products that I tested were the Lip Balm ($22, Protecting) and the Face Mask ($40, Purifying). My lips have been super dry and peeling lately, and the Lip Balm has worked wonders to not only moisturize, but also heal without feeling heavy. The Lip Balm goes on lightly and smoothly, and contains Rose Hip Oil, Argania Oil, Shea Butter, Honey, and Red Mandarin and Citrus Oils to refresh and repair the dull skin on my lips. It comes in a pot, so you will have to use your fingers or a brush to apply. The Face Mask has also been amazing for my skin. I don’t usually use masks because I dislike the heaviness and see no discernible results. The Huiles & Baumes Face Mask is clay-based, but feels light and smooth. I leave it on for about 15-20 minutes once a week and my face feels noticeably softer and firmer afterwards. The Face Mask contains Kaolin, Rose Hip Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil. Both products have slightly woody, floral/herbal scents–but they are not overwhelming at all, and smell rather relaxing to me.
