Kerastase Resistance
If you’ve undergone chemical or heat treatments for your hair, you may need to step up your hair care regime. Especially going into the summer, the last thing you want is dry, dull hair. I’ve gotten my hair color and highlighted multiple times in the past year and I regularly use heat styling so I was especially paranoid that my hair would become weak or damaged and lose its luster. I was lucky that Kerastase launched its Resistance collection last month. Prior, some products from this line could be found at fine salons – most notably their deep-conditioning treatments – but now they are available to you via their website.
Resistance products promise to strengthen and protect hair from the inside out. Two key ingredients, Vita Ciment and Vita-Topseal, work together to transform your hair’s internal structure and outside covering. The line includes cleansing, treating and protecting products.
Bain de Force, the shampoo, gently cleanses hair while deploying Vita Ciment and Vita Topseal to being softening and treating the hair. The Ciment Anti-Usure is the conditioning treatment that follows; it is specially designed to protect the mid-length and ends of hair. Both products, while being very intense, are lightweight so they won’t leave your hair greasy with residue.
Lastly, before I flat iron or blow dry, I work a bit of the Ciment Thermique into my hair; it is a product that is specifically designed to be used with heat. Kerastase knows that even though heat damages our hair, we don’t really have much choice but to use it. The Ciment Thermique is formulated so that its key ingredients are released when heat is applied to the product. One of my trusted hair stylists from my college days also told me that it’s great to use some kind of styling product when blow drying or flat ironing, so the heat burns off the product – instead of your hair.
Kerastase Resistance also contains a few more deep conditioning products that you may choose to use depending on the damage of your hair. For most of us though, the basic regime should be enough to make sure that your hair is looking and working smoothly.
