Denim Obsession

There are a lot of jeans that I try on and love, but there’s one pair that I’ve been coveting for months. Ever since I first spotted them at Fred Segal, I’ve been wanting to own Paige Premium Denim’s Robertson cut in the Dark Clean wash.

Pretty much everything about these jeans is perfection. They’re soft and comfortable, which is important because as far as I’m concerned there’s nothing worse than jeans that look good, but are so uncomfortable you find yourself dreaming of sweats the second you put them on. They have a medium rise, so they’re not high enough to cut into your torso (SO not attractive) or so low that you have to be careful every time you bend over to pick something up (a new requirement of mine after I accidentally flashed the mailman last week). They also have a trendy wide leg, which looks great with my favorite heels, and the back pockets magically manage to make my butt look better than any of the jeans already in my closet. (I know this from the many times I’ve visited “my” pair and looked at them in the dressing room mirror). The only reason I don’t own them already is that I’m trying to be responsible and ration out my jean buying so I don’t end up homeless one day, with only my extensive denim collection to keep me warm…

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Paige Premium Denim, the company was founded in 2004 by Paige Adams-Geller, a fit model who believes that even if you aren’t a size zero, you should still be able to find jeans that make you look and feel good. (What a novel concept!) Almost overnight, the line became a fantastic success and today can be found in top department stores and boutiques around the world, with a flagship store in Beverly Hills. The line has also expanded beyond denim to include contemporary tops and bottoms and styles for men, kids, maternity wear and a petite line. (I love when denim lines offer this – it eliminates that post-shopping letdown when you have to wait to wear your new jeans until after you get them tailored).

Paige jeans are also a favorite with celebrities. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is a fan of the Calabasas and Roxbury cuts (the Roxbury is also a favorite of Rachel Bilson and Eva Longoria), and I recently saw a picture of Nicole Richie wearing the Laurel Canyon cut (my second favorite Paige style).

Thanks, now I’m obsessed with these jeans too! As if I need to add to the piles of jeans in my closet which I can’t sort through (you need some for flats, heels, when you gain or lose 5 lbs., etc.). Love checking in on your site!
