La Dolce Vita

NARS’ Dolce Vita is an infamous shade among makeup junkies (like us). Described as a “dusty rose,” I find it to be a warm brownish, yet rosy pink hue. It’s a complementary color for many skin tones and tends to brighten up complexions with just a swipe on the lips. It’s just one of those colors that should be a must-have in everyone’s makeup bags.

For Summer ’08, NARS describes their summer collection as “a sultry palette of edgy neutrals that evoke intense carnal desire.” Appropriately, they are releasing the Dolce Vita color as part of their collection of lip pencils. This lip pencil glides on smoothly and produces a velvet matte finish. It actually sticks around for quite a bit (enough to pass the water bottle test), but you definitely will need to re-apply half way through the day. I love the chubbiness of the crayon, which makes it super easy to use when you’re on-the-go. Moreover, it doesn’t dry out my lips – and it provides the exact same color as the original lipstick. I’ll definitely be wearing this color throughout the entire summer.
