When Stila announced that they were coming out with a new Silk Eye Shadow Wash in one of their bestselling shades, Kitten, I was very curious. But when I finally got my hands on a tube and saw it in person, I was incredibly excited. I mean, after all…Kitten is a gorgeous pale pinkish gold shade – and you know how much I adore my gold shadows!
The shadow has a water-based liquid-to-powder formula, so when you apply it to your eyelids, it feels cool and soothing. It also has silk proteins, so it glides on very smoothly and is easy to use. The color of this shadow is truly lovely, and I can totally see why it’s a cult classic. It has a blend of three pearls, so there’s dimension to the shimmer and gives the shadow warmth.
What I like is that the intensity of the shadow is really up to you. Apply a light layer and blend quickly with fingers for a barely-there glow, or layer it on for an more intense gold eye. You can also blend it onto your cheeks as a highlighter, if you’re in a pinch. Best of all, once this goes on and dries, it won’t budge; yet, it comes off easily with a bit of water and soap. So if you’re up partying all summer long, you still have no excuse not to take off your makeup before you hit the sack.
