Beauty, SkincareTDO Beauty Spotlight: Weleda

When was the last time that you felt like you could buy a really good beauty product at your favorite…grocery store? That’s right – one of the top organic beauty brands, Weleda, is sold at my favorite haunt, Whole Foods. I recently had the chance to sample a few items across their line and I have to say that I’ve been really impressed!

ABOUT THE BRAND: Weleda makes products that suit whatever need you may have – from hair care to deodorants. What’s great is that they really take the environment and your health into consideration. Their products are free of all synthetic preservatives, fragrances, colors and mineral oils. Instead, they are filled with natural goodies such as vitamins, natural root and flower extracts and even things that are edible – like coffee and oats.

STAND OUT PRODUCTS: Weleda makes some wonderful products that you can use as part of your daily routine. In fact, I’m in the middle of a really “green” phase (hopefully one that won’t end soon) and have been using Weleda for my face, hair and daily care. One of my favorite products of theirs is their almond face care line; it’s seriously one of the most gentle and yummiest smelling products I’ve ever used. Especially in the summer, I don’t want to use anything harsh because my skin is fickle enough as is. Weleda’s Almond Cleansing lotion is the perfect blend to help maintain my skin’s natural balance without stripping or irritating.

Another item that I’ve really been a fan of is their Rosemary Hair Oil. My hair is naturally oily so it seems counterintuitive to put more oil in my hair, but this is one of the better conditioners I’ve used. A little truly goes a long way and you can use this product on wet or dry hair. I love the smell of this product by the way, as it is free of artificial perfumes. If you microwave it, this product can also be used as a hot oil treatment. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll be sure to save some to use as a deep conditioner when the seasons start changing and my hair starts drying out. And as always, their ingredients list is impressively short and sweet: peanuts, clover, lavender and rosemary.

OTHER GREAT FINDS: Lastly, I love the deodorants that Weleda makes. As a spray, it’s different from anything else that I’ve used. There is truly no streaking or staining to worry about. The scents are fresh and nothing like anything else I’ve used. My favorite is the Citrus Deodorant. It is very rejuvenating. Unlike other brands, Weleda’s deodorants are just that – and not an antiperspirant. While that may not be what some of you are looking for, I like it for days that I know are going to be low-key because I’m kept fresh without any extra chemicals.

RECOMMENDED FOR: This line of products is great for those gals who like to keep it simple, healthy and green. I especially think it’s a great line for the summer because everything makes you feel so fresh. Since everything is natural, it’s also great for your skin during the hot months.
