Be Shine Free

I have combination to oily skin and while I love the summer, I absolutely hate walking by a mirror and realizing that the hot weather has left my face a shiny mess. So once it hits June or so, I find myself using a lot more toner to clear all the shine off and keep my skin clean. The problem with that is that some toners can really dry out my skin and make it start to flake, so basically I trade one problem for another. Luckily, I’ve recently found a toner that has all the benefits I’m looking for with none of the drawbacks.
Ole Henriksen’s Grease Relief Tonic is a non-drying antiseptic toner that helps to shrink pores and stop breakouts. Its active ingredients, such as lactic acid, camphor, golden seal, comfrey extract and hops extract soothe and calm your skin while providing it with an anti-inflammatory agent to keep it soft and smooth. It cools down your skin when you swipe it on, which is nice when it’s 100 degrees out and you’re looking for something refreshing. I love that the formula is heavy duty enough to get all the summer grime off my face, but at the same time gentle enough to let me use it as often as I want because I’m kind of an obsessive face cleaner. (I hate feeling dirty. I applaud all of those people who can go three or four days between washing their hair because I know it’s good for it, but if I don’t wash mine every day, I start to feel like I’m camping or something).
Grease Relief Tonic is sold at select Sephora stores, Sephora.com and OleHenriksen.com and retails for $21 for a 7 ounce bottle and $30 for a 13 ounce bottle. Celebrities that have used it include Rebecca Romijin, Laura Dern, Bryan Adams, Tyra Banks and Milla Jovovich. So in addition to having great skin, if you use this tonic, you can also tell people that you have the same beauty routine as the man who sings “The Summer of ’69.” How many products can you say that about?
