Attack Your Blemishes

Right now, my skin looks great (thanks, Kinara!), but when it doesn’t, the first products that I reach for are Ole Henricksen’s Blemish Attack trio.  Made up of a Daily Defense Gel, a Roll-On, and a Purifying Mask, this holy trinity of products will get your skin back in shape whenever you need it.

First up is the Daily Defense Gel, which is applied to your entire face every morning and is meant to control excessive oil production (to stop new pimples from forming) and reduce pore size (to make your skin look clearer).  It contains salicylic acid and zinc, but it’s surprisingly gentle for the amount of powerful glycolic and lactic acids in it.  The great thing about this product is it can be used on other parts of your body too, so if you have an event to attend and need to make sure your neck and chest are smooth and clear, this is your product.

My most used of the three products is the Purifying Mask.  It’s a reparative anti-inflammatory mask (also with salicyclic acid and zinc) that contains a mixture of purifying clays to help absorb impurities.  It also has african red tea, green tea, and white tea, which are powerful anti-oxidants that help to slow the aging process (so you’re helping your skin get old gracefully even while you’re keeping it clear!)  The eucalyptus extract and aloe vera in it also make it smell exactly like a treatment you would get at a spa.  I like to put this on once every two weeks or so – just 30 minutes on the couch reading a magazine while it dries and my skin stays smooth and blemish free.  It’s the perfect level of skin care commitment!

The final product in the trio is the Roll-On Blemish Attack.  With a roll-on applicator, this small vial is totally portable and easy to apply (you just roll it over the problem areas on your face twice at night).  The benzoyl peroxide in it kills bacteria, while the sugar cane and sugar maple extracts help to stimulate cell renewal.  This is great for those random breakouts that happen to every one sometimes (even celebrities – fans of this product include Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, Renee Zellweger and Rebecca Romijin).
