Be Daring For Fall
Even though it’s super early to be thinking about colder weather (especially in Los Angeles, where colder means 70 degrees!) all of the fall collections I’ve seen so far are so gorgeous that I really don’t mind. Prescriptives’ new fall collection, Daring, is no exception. Daring is, as Prescriptives describes it, “a textured on-trend color collection of sapphire and amethyst jewel tones, featuring an intriguing range of shades.” What’s nice about this collection is that you can use the colors to go either soft and natural or bold and dramatic, so you have tons of options for different looks.
One of the standouts of the collection are the new Limited Edition Fall Dimensions Eye Color Quads, which are available in Prescriptives’ four color families. They come in funky metallic packaging and the shadows go on smoothly and last all day. The colors are beautiful; the palette I received has a shade in it called Cobalt that’s my new favorite shadow.
It’s a dark blue that has a bit of a shimmer to it, but it can go on lightly or be layered for a more intense look. All of the colors are embossed with a funky, unique design, giving the palettes a fun touch.
I also love the Fall Dimensions for Cheeks and Eyes – another Limited Edition palette that can be used in several different ways. It has three different shades in it that can be applied as a highlighter, a contour color, or even on your eyes. (I like to use the bronze shade on my eyes, with the beige color as a highlighter). It’s a great multi-purpose product that you can throw in your bag and use to give your entire face a glow.
If you’re trying to create a look for a night out, the Limited Edition Sparkle Eye Pencils are a great way to go. The formula has large pearlized
pigment particles in it, as well as fine glitter particles, so the colors are super sparkly and fun. The new shades are Midnight Sparks and Plum Sparks. I tried Plum Sparks and the dark purple is a great accent color for my green eyes (especially when paired with the light purple shade from the Cheeks and Eyes palette).
The Daring collection also includes new shades of Prescriptives’ Lash Envy Volumizing Mascara in colors that match the Sparkle Eye Pencils, Midnight and Plum. I haven’t seen it in person yet, but I’m dying to get my hands on the Plum color. (Sometimes, I get kind of bored of mascara, but funky new colors are the perfect way to get me interested again!) To finish off your look, brush on a Colorscope Cheek Color in either Pink Horizon or Cherry Blossom to give yourself a natural flush. And voila – you’re daring for fall!
The Prescriptives Daring collection is available starting this month at Prescriptives counters and www.prescriptives.com.

Not too early to be thinking of fall. Experiencing a brutal summer so can’t wait for red leaves and crisp air.
The colours on Prescriptive’s Daring eye palette is just gorgeous, especially the sapphire hue — just lovely for a slightly smoky look.
