City Bag It In Style

August 15th, 2008 by productwhore

I have a ton of bags, but I have to admit, there’s nothing that gets me more excited than finding a new one that I fall head over heels for.  Makeup, shoes, jackets… they’re all fun to shop for, but a new bag is even better because you carry it around every day, so you get lots of those little, “Oooh, look what I own!” moments. (Am I crazy or does everyone feel this way?) Right now, I’m coveting pretty much every single one of Andrea Brueckner’s bags (and I’m in good company - her celebrity fans include Jessica Alba, Ashlee Simpson, and Audrina Partridge), but the one I must own to get me through the fall is the Tierney City Bag.

One of the things I love about it is that it’s the perfect size for a girl on the go - it’s not so small that you can barely fit in your Blackberry and sunglasses, but it’s not so big that you’ll be knocking people over as you walk down the street. The bag is made with goatskin and has two front pockets (perfect for storing things that you need to get to quickly, like your phone) and large buckle detail. The top has a drawstring closure to keep all your things safe, which is fantastic because I can’t even begin to guess how many lipsticks I’ve lost while using bags that don’t close. The interior has plenty of compartments to let you organize your life, and the nickel hardware adds a funky touch to the overall look of the design. I really like that it has both a handle and a strap too - having the option to sling it over my shoulder or carry it makes me happy because it gives the bag more versatility.  I’m loving the Black/Brown version - it’ll go with almost everything in my closet and is perfect for the transition into cooler weather.  At $650, it’s a little bit out of my price range right now, but I’m giving up my morning lattes to start saving anyway.  It’s always nice to have a goal!

As gorgeous as Andrea’s bags are, it’s also great to know that she’s big on social responsibility. All of her bags are manufactured in New York garment factories, so you can rest assured that you’re getting a quailty bag that’s sweatshop free.  For more info about Andrea Brueckner bags, check out AndreaBrueckner.com - or to purchase one of your very own (lucky you!), visit RevolveClothing.com.
