Better than Basic

At a recent Fashion Week party thrown by Louis Vuitton, I decided that I was going to rock the red lipstick, which then resulted in the quest to find the perfect eye makeup to complement. As usual, I offset the heavy lip color with a nude eye, but since this was a “high stakes night at the Louis Vuitton Casino,” I decided that my eye makeup needed a little extra oomph.

Enter Bobbi Brown’s Shimmering Nudes Palette, a collection of 7 warm and cool nudes that add just enough extra something – something to an otherwise very understated eye. I first washed my entire eye area with Nude Glow, a shimmery silver beige that highlights and brightens, and then filled in the crease with Nude Mist, Mica Spice, and Nude Spice. The combination created just enough of a nude-brownish smokey and the best part was that extra sparkle. Had I not been wearing the red lipstick, I would’ve completely smoked out the eye with a touch of the Espresso.
