Shine On
Do you ever have those days where you’re looking for something different to do with your makeup? If you’re anything like me, you have a pretty standard day-to-day makeup routine…but certain nights, you just want to punch it up a bit and add a little adventure.
For those days, when I do want to stick to my natural, day-to-day makeup routine, I reach for Lipstick Queen’s Oxymoron Matte Gloss. Why oxymoron you ask? Because it combines the best traits of a gloss (sheer and easy to glide on) with the matte-ness of a lipstick. I tried the “Honest Politician” shade, which is a beautiful, sheer natural red-rose color. The minute after I tried it, I threw it into my workbag, because I knew it would be the perfect work shade.
However, for those days where I want something different, I reach for Lipstick Queen Shine, their signature gloss. Much like Lipstick Queen’s lipsticks, Shine comes in 2 varieties: Saint (for a more demure look) and Sinner (for a more dramatic look.) Now, the first thing that I noticed that was different about Lipstick Queen’s gloss was the consistency. Shine is encased in the usual circular container – nothing special there. But, the consistency of it…is soft and for lack of a better word, gluey.
But no worries, Shine glides easily on to the lips and I didn’t have any problems in application. In my opinion, the consistency only adds to the drama, because it gives the color extreme density and moisturizing power, and also prevents it from being a typical sheer gloss. I tried the Shine Red Sinner which was the perfect RED gloss; my lips looked like those candy apple red gloss lips that you see in commercials, the ultimate in drama! A less dramatic shade from the Saint line, called Gold Saint was also beautiful and studded with gold flecks.

I have both Shine and Oxymoron and love them alot
What I like about Oxymoron is you can use it for both the lips and the cheeks! So if you have one of those nights where you have a clutch bag and can only fit a cellphone and one product this is def the one to bring!
I got Shine in red too and I agree with you that it really is just like something you would see in a commercial.
It makes me feel pretty!
