Spot Your Assets
A few months ago, I shared how Spanx and I became BFF. (How can you not love something that’s sleek, chic and makes you look and feel better instantly?) Now I’m back to talk about Spanx’ sister brand Assets, which is, shall I say, a huge asset in my closet.
Assets is also created by Sara Blakley, but is more accessible to women at a lower price point. This means that if you need a last minute control slip and Nordstrom is closed, but Target is open – you’re in luck! This line is also perfect for non-working gals, who may not want to splurge on Spanx, but want to make sure that their control pieces are high quality and comfortable. I also find myself to be a big fan of Assets – so much that I regularly interchange Spanx and Assets pieces in my everyday wear.
Assets is designed by the same team that brought you Spanx, but uses different materials and different technology. I find that the material of Assets pieces are a little slinkier, which I actually prefer because it moves with me better. Assets pieces are also not as tight as Spanx, which can be a good thing. For example, my thighs are not one of my problem spots; but I still like the feeling of having a little support and shaping there, so I wear my Assets mid-thigh shaper, which holds everything in place without being so tight that it’s constricting. All Assets pieces create a smooth line so your clothe swill fall perfectly over them.
The Assets collection contains the traditional hoisery pieces, and now the Fantastic Firmers collection of body pieces. Like Spanx, Assets also includes a lineup of textured, footless and sheer control tights- so the range contains everything that should address any gal’s needs. So if you’re in the market for control underwear and you find yourself admist a bunch of brands that you’ve never heard of, you can be assured that Assets is some of the best you can get.
