Caffé Luxxe
Montana Avenue is a famed shopping street of sorts here in Los Angeles. It’s totally a walkable, tranquil neighborhood (somewhat rare for L.A.), with a good mix of cute shops and restaurants lining the street. One of my favorite places to stop and relax is Caffé Luxxe.
Caffé Luxxe is a quaint cafe that serves up up a cozy atmosphere and delicious drinks, Italian-style. Dedicated to “super-premium quality, innovation, authenticity, and artisanship,” the friendly baristas are trained for months before even hitting the floor and will give you excellent recommendations. The espresso is made in small batches – so pretty much all the coffee drinks are fabulous. The iced caffe latte is an excellence choice when it’s warm outside, and you can’t go wrong with a beautifully made macchiato when it’s a bit chillier.
Lastly, if you’re looking for a place to catch up with your friends, this is definitely one of my favorite cafes to visit, as it’s small and usually not too noisy. The decor is fairly stark – white, black and silver – yet still comes across as inviting. Typically, I’ll order a big pot of tea (my favorite is the White Peach) for $5.50 to share with a friend, and we’ll chat for a couple hours – about work, shopping, boys and all those favorite topics you chat about with only your girlfriends. (In fact, I’m planning on a trip to the cafe this weekend with a dear friend of mine!) After you’re done, head across to the street to get a facial at Dermalogica or simply shop various boutiques like Jill Roberts – or head down a few blocks for London Sole and Planet Blue!
