Finger Painting

Although I know that standard beauty 101 dictates that you should apply all of your makeup using sponges or brushes (particularly for foundation), sometimes I just don’t feel like doing it. I know brushes are best for blending things into your skin, and I still continue to use them when I’m doing a more complicated eye look. But the thing is that using brushes takes away from the thing that I love most about beauty: its tactile nature. Part of the joy I get from makeup is from seeing how things feel – how that new eyeshadow glimmers across my skin or how that creamy blush melts into my cheeks.
Josie Maran’s new Finger Paints palette allows me to continue reveling in that joy, as it features 4 multipurpose gorgeously shimmery colors in one compact, all of which are meant to be applied using your fingers, allowing me to continue having a “hands on” experience with my makeup. Each of the colors in this compact are just begging to be touched, with a a pearly snowy white, a shimmery carnation pink, a sparkly bronze, and a glowing red rose.
In line with Josie Maran’s low maintenance but quality product philosophy, each of the colors in the compact is sophisticated and beautiful, but also very wearable. The colors are well chosen and flattering to all skin tones), and have a souffle light texture that just glides across your face and is easily applied.
This compact has become my new on-the-go staple, because it gives me an easy, fast makeup pick me up. Whenever I want to change my daytime office look, I use my fingers to swipe either of these colors on my face, and instantly get an updated look.
