Ken Paves is best known for working his hair magic on celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria. (Say what you want about Jess, but I think we can all agree that she has gorgeous hair). So when I heard that he was launching his new Healthy Hair Collection, I jumped at the chance to try out two of the products.

The Healthy Hair Shine Serum ($30) is the perfect finishing touch to any hairdo, whether it’s up in a ponytail or loose around your shoulders. It has pure essential oils, vitamins, panthenol and sunscreens that help to give your hair strength and make it super shiny. (My hair is a dark brown, so I can really tell the difference in the shine factor when I use something like this). It’s really easy to use too – you just apply a small amount to damp hair when you get out of the shower and then style like you normally would. And as an added extra bonus, the formula also helps to detangle your hair, so it acts as a conditioner too. This little bottle is definitely coming back east with me for my cousin’s wedding next week so my hair can look good in all the wedding photos. (Maybe I’ll even be nice enough to let the bride use it too!)

I also tried the Healthy Hair Boost Up Color Drops. Created exclusively for Ken Paves, these drops are made to enhance your hair’s existing color or to help give your fading color a boost. (They’re the perfect solution to keeping your color refreshed between visits to your stylist). They’re also simple to use – you just put a couple drops in with your normal conditioner, leave it in for 1-2 minutes, and then rinse it out. I definitely noticed the dull brown that my hair has faded to brightening up after I used the drops – my hair seemed glossier too, like it does right after I leave the salon. (Which is only reminding me how desperately I need to make my next appointment!) The Boost Up Color Drops are available in Black, Brown, Platinum, Honey, Beige and Red, so you can pick the color that best suits your shade. At only $40, it’s a great way to keep your hair bright and vibrant all year round.

The Ken Paves Healthy Hair Collection also includes the Daily Shampoo, Daily Conditioner, Curl Balm, Volumizing Spray, and Strong Hold Shaping Hair Spray.
