Valérie Delafosse is the head designer of ERES, one of our favorite luxury lingerie and swimwear brands.  After studying under fashion greats such as Azzedine Alaïa, Claude Montana and Thierry Mugler, Delafosse began her career in lingerie design by founding Princesse Tam Tam with two friends. Since then, Delafosse has worked for numerous lingerie and swimwear brands such as Dior, Cacharel, Gap Body and Chloe, before joining ERES as head designer in 2006. Every season, we find ourselves obsessing over the entire ERES line, so we were thrilled with Valérie agreed to share her latest loves with us. Read about them below!

ONE. Scent — I am very obsessed with our 5 senses, in particular smell that usually bring me back to happy memories. I can follow a person in the street to identify her fragrance – my personal favorite at the moment is “Dans Tes Brans,” the latest from the edition de Parfums Frederic Malle. 

TWO. Ribbons — More than usual this season, I am fascinated with an unexpected mix of colors and ribbons. My special favorite is Mokuba, a Japanese store in the Marais with an outpost in New York, and chez Violette in the Clignancourt flea market.

THREE. Independent Women — I obsess about independent women, pioneers in their passion – strong personalities such as Karen Blixen, Josephine de Beauharnais, Coco Chanel and Peggy Guggenheim, who is such an art patron and cultural icon.

FOUR. Lingerie — All senses are important. The touch and the feel, especially in lingerie, is epicenter. I am interested in velvet and old silk velvet – the way it feels and the way it catches light, its softness and femininity.

FIVE. Lace — This season I am intensely looking for old lace from Calais, Chantilly or Venice in small flea markets from Belgium to Italy – the details and know how of old lace fascinates me like Prada guipure lace.
