Phenomen’Eyes
I’d been hearing a ton of buzz about Givenchy’s new Phenomen’Eyes mascara, so I was super excited to try it out. A lot of the conversation has revolved around the ball shaped brush it comes with. Made of an elastomer that allows it to glide over lashes, this sphere shaped applicator is made to let you precisely apply mascara to every single lash. It definitely takes some getting used to; I found that at first, the formula clumped more than usual mascaras for me, but after some practice, I got much better at using it and the clump factor definitely decreased. The fact that it’s shaped like a ball really helps with formula distribution. I found it much easier to coat every lash with mascara and get to the tiny lashes in the corners with this shaped brush. (And don’t be scared – I was nervous that I would poke myself in the eyes getting used to the new applicator, but I didn’t at all.)
The ball shape isn’t the only thing great about this mascara. The formula is based on water and a cutting-edge polymer, and once you put it on, the water evaporates, which allows the polymer to shape, separate and lengthen lashes. Basically, this means that you get incredibly thick, long lashes that last all day. When I was testing it out, I applied it to one eye and used my regular mascara on the other and was definitely surprised to see how much better Phenomen’Eyes looked. It was almost like I was wearing fake lashes! It definitely takes some practice to get used to using it, but if you’re looking for long, thick lashes, Phenomen’Eyes really delivers.
The mascara retails for $27 and is available in two shades: Phenomen’Black and Phenomen’Brown. Pick yours up at Sephora.com.

You’ve convinced me to try it. I thought it was just a brush thing and didn’t realize it had the polymer stuff. If it can give me nearly fake eyelashes look, I’m in.
