Essential Rose

When I smell rose fragrances, I think about grandmas. Not my own grandmother as she would never use perfumes (or cosmetics, or lotion – she swears soap and water is all she’s used her whole life to look fabulous) – but as you already know, she and I differ greatly in this regard. I have bottles of perfumes in the double digits so I’m not exactly out there hunting for the next new scent, especially not ones with the word Rose in their name. But when not one but two of my young, hip, fashionable friends told me that they stalk the duty free shops when they travel for Bulgari Rose Essentielle, I knew I had to go see what the hype was about.
What makes Bulgari different is that their rose scent is fresh and not cloying. It’s actually very young feeling, delicate , chic and light. The rose is the highlight in a bouquet of florals: jasmine, violet, mimosa. The other florals in the fragrance help balance out the rose, yet they never overpower the rose and instead, let it be the highlight of the scent.
Most mornings, I’m in the mood for Rose Essentielle. I can’t get enough! It lasts from the morning until the end of my work day. The dry down isn’t powdery. In fact, I feel that Bulgari does a great job at maintaining that just-spritzed fresh scent. If you love the idea of rose, but hate what happens when you bottle it – give Rose Essentielle a try. It may be the only rose fragrance you’ll ever use.
