3Lab’s Perfect Mask is the most aptly named product I’ve come across lately. Seriously, I have one on my face as I’m typing this. I’m actually squinting through the eye holes because I already took my contacts out and can’t wear my glasses over it. But I can’t get enough of this mask…it is in every sense, perfect.
Unlike masks you might be used to, there’s no scrubbing or smearing necessary with 3Lab. The mask comes in single packets; it’s an actual sheet soaked with treatment that you unfold and then place over your face. Then let the mask do all the work while you carry on- albeit looking like the Phantom of the Opera. You might feel a bit of tingling in the beginning, but that goes away after a few minutes. I let the mask soak into my skin for a while – usually the length it takes to finish a task – and then simply rub the rest of the treatment into my skin. Ladies, my skin is glowing after only one application. I mean seriously glowing that I don’t even need makeup the next day. The type of glowing that I’m constantly sneaking peeks at my own face in the mirror because I can’t believe how gorgeous my skin is. And of course, there’s no product residue or anything of the sort – nothing that would make this mask less than perfect.
Check out the masks yourself at 3Lab.com.
Everyone knows that I’m obsessed with Loeffler Randall. I’ve had my eye on the Necklace Dress for a few months now and just had to write about it finally. For some reason, I’ve very attracted to navy-hued dresses lately and this fits the bill perfectly. It’s a stunning silk dress with ruching at the scoopneck, along with the waist and shoulders. What makes this dress truly special though, is the fabulous multi-strand detailing at the neckline that simulates necklaces. It highlights the décolleté for a bit of sexiness, but still keeps it understated. The overall feel is elegant and slight offbeat, in an avant garde way. Pair with your favorite Loeffler Randall heels and a clutch, and you’ll be all ready to turn heads at those holiday cocktail parties.

I’ve written about Lancome twice already this month, but I can’t help myself! They have some truly fantastic items for the holiday season. Right now, I’m completely enamored by their holiday palettes, so let me tell you a little bit about them.
The Holiday Color Design palettes are so stunning that they would make perfect gifts. Lancome offers two eye palettes (Pampered and Privileged and Starlette and Stunning), as well as an eye and face palette dubbed Cinema Noir. The shades are gorgeous neutrals that you could wear any day, any time of the year. The casing for the palette is sparkly and shimmery – and quite honestly, fun to touch!
The limited edition Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad is one to order for yourself. I’m totally in love with the Hollywood Seductive shades, which feature various shimmery hues of bronze and a bright midnight blue. They’re truly fabulous hues that will prove themselves to be quite versatile. (Side note: When two other beauty bloggers and myself saw this palette at the Lancome NYC boutique, we all gasped – and had to take one home immediately. The colors are that pretty.)
The first time I met Kathleen (aka joie), she came strolling into brunch with a SpaceNK bag and her first box of Eve Lom Cleanser. Although I’ve long heard of this cult fave, I’d never tried the product so I intently listened to her explain the changes she saw in her skin for the next few weeks. We also jumped at the chance to interview Eve Lom and find out from the creator herself what makes that product so iconic.
The Daily Obsession: How did you formulate the cleanser and develop the idea of a cleanser designed around the lymphatic drainage system?
Eve Lom: Developing the cleanser did not happen overnight; it was a process. When I lived in LA, I met renowned skincare specialist Georgette Klinger, who inspired me to become a facialist. I became fascinated by the therapeutic side of beauty, studying lymphatic drainage, cranial osteopathy and nutrition. When I moved to London and started practicing my facial, I also started to develop a cleanser to be used during my facial. I mixed my own concoctions in yogurt cups using ingredients I remembered from my childhood growing up on a farm in Czechoslovakia: natural ingredient such as hops – a natural rinse aid, clove – antiseptic for clear skin, eucalyptus and chamomile – soothing, and cocoa butter. I only recently had the chance to try the newest scent from Tocca: Brigitte, inspired by Ms. Bardot herself in her free-spirited heyday. Brigitte is a fresh, floral scent with an Oriental twist of ginger and saffron notes. Although there are fruit notes, I didn’t find it to be overwhelmingly fruity. The fruit notes lend a certain sweetness, but what initially grabs you is the subtle spice of the ginger and saffron notes. After the initial dry down, what stays with you through the day is the sweetly floral scent that is not powdery at all.
- Top notes: rhubarb, papaya
- Middle/heart notes: ginger, rose, iris, saffron
- Bottom notes: sandalwood, musk
For me, Brigitte is a day to night scent that I’m comfortable wearing everyday to work and out for drinks afterward. I also love the simple sophistication of Tocca packaging. The bottle is gorgeous with its heavy brass cap, and I’m having trouble throwing the box away with its pretty etchings. Try it for yourself at Sephora!
I have to admit, I’m a total lip gloss addict. I think I own at least 20 lip glosses, but only a few lipsticks. I just never really thought lipsticks looked nice on me since my lips tend to get dry so easily. I thought lipsticks looked caked and dry on me and stuck to glosses, but little did I know that I was missing out on a world of pigment, coverage, and color. Yes, there are lipsticks out there that all ladies can rock, because they are simply as shiny, smooth, and easy to apply as gloss is. I tried on many, many lipsticks so I could share my favorites in terms of consistency, texture, and pigment. Here are some great lipsticks that any gloss addict can transition to!
It would be remiss of me not to mention Lipstick Queen first. This is a fantastic line to try because of the different levels of pigment and coverage you can get. The Sinner line is more heavily pigmented (90% pigment) and the Saint line is more sheer (10% pigment), but both feel amazingly soft and smooth as you apply. My favorite right now is Medieval, which is also a fantastic red for ladies who might be a little wary of red, like myself at first. It’s practically a universally flattering shade of red that stains your lips with color. It’s never looked cakey or dry on me and always looks so luscious–even more luscious than a gloss would look! I’ve always wanted to wear a pretty party dress that shimmied around me as I dance so I could feel like a beautiful flapper from the 20s. (Yes, that is one of my many weird fantasies.) I dare you not to feel flirty and fun in this Thayer Bite Strapless Fringe Dress.
It’s more of a modern take on the flapper dress since it’s simply black without any further sparkly embellishments, but I think it’s a show-stopper. I’m loving the layers and layers of hanging fringe threads that will swing with you as you move. The zip-up back and elastic band at the top hem will let the dress look more fitted and cling to the right curves. Dancing and shimmying the night away in this dress is pretty much the most charming thing I can think of! The Thayer Bite Strapless Fringe Dress is available at shopbop.com now.
I’ve never been able to stick with an organic-based skincare regime. Trust me, I’ve tried – and while I do like many natural products, there hasn’t been a brand that’s just done wonders for my skin.
Well, an hour after I tried Rocca Skincare, I began raving about it. This has never happened before with a skincare brand, much less one with primarily natural ingredients. Why the immediate rave? It left my skin looking glowy right after application – and I’m all for immediate results. First, let me back up and tell you more about the brand and its products. (more…)
