I’ve never been able to stick with an organic-based skincare regime. Trust me, I’ve tried – and while I do like many natural products, there hasn’t been a brand that’s just done wonders for my skin.

Well, an hour after I tried Rocca Skincare, I began raving about it. This has never happened before with a skincare brand, much less one with primarily natural ingredients. Why the immediate rave? It left my skin looking glowy right after application – and I’m all for immediate results. First, let me back up and tell you more about the brand and its products.

Rocca Skincare is founded and developed by Laura DeLuisa LaRocca (who is also one of the founders of DuWop). Laura wanted to create a truly fantastic skincare line that would help protect and refresh skin. For this, she turned to all-natural 24K gold and combined it with scientifically proven ingredients – such as fulvic acid, hyaluronic acid and stablized vitamin C – to create her products. “I wanted to make the benefits of gold widely accessible in the form of technology-drive, results-oriented skincare without compromising the environment,” says Laura. Each of the ingredients help cell regeneration, which minimizes signs of aging; the gold itself “promotes electron transfer with the metal ions naturally found in the skin…which helps cell turnover and leaves skin smooth and rejuvenated.” Sounds amazing, right?

Let’s talk about the products next. The line is obviously carefully thought out and is composed of only the following four products:

24K Gold Cleanser ($75) – A silky cream cleanser that harnesses the power of 24K gold to gently exfoliate skin while moisturizing and stimulating collagen growth
24K Gold Moisture ($125) – A weightless invisible veil containing 24K gold that creates an ideal environment to stimulate cell regeneration and protect from damaging free radicals
24K Eye Cream ($150) – A premium multi-tasking eye treatment formulated with 24K gold, that energizes the cells to help lift, tighten, brighten and reduce puffiness around the eye area, while hydrating and strengthening dermal tissue
C-Gold ($150) – A velvety lightweight gel made of 24K gold that helps stimulate cell regeneration, protect against UVA/UVB rays and repair sun damage, making skin appear smoother, firmer and healthier

I admit it’s fairly decadent to wash and moisturize your face with 24K gold, but the products are fairly priced considering that gold is incredibly expensive in this economy. (We’ve noticed many fine jewelry designers trying the costume route lately because of it.) With all the products, you can actually see the gold particles and see how they impart an instant glow to skin. Here are my thoughts about each:

The cleanser is the only product with a scent – and it is a very lovely faint citrus scent, which probably is a result from the orange peel oil in its ingredients. You will feel exfoliating particles (made from natural Diatomaceous Earth) when you use this, but it’s incredibly gentle and non-irritating. It’s truly lovely to use in the morning because it just perks you up. The moisturizer is incredibly lightweight, but hydrating. It is the perfect follow up to the cleanser. Your skin feels really smooth after application. For anyone with puffy eyes or dark circles, grab the eye cream. It’s light and feels like water during application, but it actually diminished puffiness and darkness for me – despite the fact that I’ve been getting less sleep since I started this skincare regime.

But the star product is really the C-Gold. If you have money to spend on only one product from the line, make it this one. Unlike other serums, this one goes on after your moisturizer. The texture of it is velvety and after applying, you’ll notice that your skin looks instantly smoother. (In fact, some mornings, I’ve been skipping primer altogether because this does a good job of keeping my skin looking smooth.) Your skin also will look brighter and glowy immediately! After using for four weeks, my skin looks fresher, firmer and much healthier. It really has improved my skin – from balancing it out to rejuvenating it. I can’t say enough good things about this product. LOVE it!
