I bought the instyler back in july. they say if you do the payment plan it is one price for 3 months. i did that and 6months later charged my account again for $39.99. i called to find out why and was told that is the way it is set up. the total cost was $159.00. i guess i should have checked a little closer befor buying. it breaks your hair and burns you very easily. i burnt my head badly and i just barely touched the instyler to my head for a milisecond. i also have burnt my hand as has my 17 year old daughter. i am very dissapointed with this product. and yes i have tried many different products that is used for flat irons, hairdriers and such.nothing worked. will buy a differnt straightner to use. this one is horrible.

I bought the Instyler from QVC last July 2009. I like it but the heating element went out yesterday. It will rotate but there is no heat. From reading these reviews, it seems I was scammed if the company doesn't stand by its product and charging so much to return it. I brought it to QVC to see if they will do something.

I just received my Instyler from an e-bay auction and paid 48 dollars plus shipping/handling. The product seems to do the opposite of what is said in the directions. It heats up and blinks = the rotator only works then. When the blinking stops and the Instyler is supposed to be ready for use, the barrel does not turn. I lose my shipping to send the item and must pay shipping to send it back. Hardly seems worth it. Neither by auctioneer or Instyler customer service have returned my inquiries. Pissed.

I wish I would have read these reviews before I purchased the Instyler, I guess I have learned a lesson here. I ordered the Instyler, I haven't received it yet but now after reading these reviews, I feel like I made a big mistake in purchasing this product.

I just bought the instyler at Costco. It only took me 5 minutes to get the hang of using it. I love it! It does make my fine hair have static, but, hairspray takes care of that. It is so much easier than trying to blow dry with a curling brush and I can get my hair to look like I just came out of the salon.
Yes, the barrel is supposed to heat up. Mine does....

My daughter purchased the unit for our house.
Like everyone else I had seen it on TV and was leary.
I was blown away by the cost of it.
All in all I do like the way it operates and styles.
It is really quick to use.
On the high setting a person must work very fast.
I think it has, and will burn your ends a bit.
Due to the fact that most of our hair ends are
a bit fragile.
We possibly may have an instyler that is defective.
Being african american & med. length permed hair.
With the instyler set on high it consistantly keeps
turning itself off.
Very frustrating and annoying.
Seeing as how you would think it would be able to hold
it's designed temperature and function for periods long enough to style an entire head.
My daughter having natural hair shorter length with the
instyler set on high, hers only shuts off once during
styling.
The instyler when it can hold the temperature does
an awesome job.
I am sad about it, but I cannot depend on it for my own
styling needs.

I was excited seeing the commercial but now I'm not too sure after all the complaints about how it functions. For one I knew it wasn't 14.99. I'm definitely going to get it from ebay. Cheaper & then I'll feel I got my money's worth wih warranty...

I have long hair that has been straightened and it is very flat. The enstyler is the perfect solution, it works great and well worth the money.

I bought the instyler more than 9 months ago. I don’t think it not was worth the money. They reason behind that, I have a curly hair and the instyler does not straighten the roots and if you try to get it closer you are definitely getting an electrical burn, which hurts a lot! So you are left with two options either double the work and straighten the roots then curl the ends or leave your hair looking weird with curly roots and styled ends.
I would recommend it if you have natural straight hair. CURLY HAIR LADIES, NO don’t think about it.
