Throw Yourself A Christmas Party

My love for LUSH is well known, but at this time of year, it gets kicked up an extra notch because of all the lovely holiday goodness. A lot of companies put out one or two extra products at the holiday and call it a day, but LUSH always has a ton of new products to play around with, making it even more fun than usual to visit one of their stores. And if you’re looking for the perfect gift, look no further. They have gift sets ranging in price from $9.95 to $139.95, so you’re guaranteed to find something for everyone on your list (and, of course, something for yourself!)

The Lush-ious (as they call them) gift that I’ve been testing out is the Christmas Party Gift. It contains alcohol inspired products that are meant to cleanse and refresh your mind and body after a night out. (And who couldn’t use some cleansing and refreshing after a crazy holiday party?) The set contains the Gold, Frankincense and Beer shower jelly, which is my new favorite. It’s made with beer, warming cinnamon leaf, black pepper and clove essential oils, and mandarin juice and orange oil. It’s a different scent, one that I’ve never smelled before, so it’s really hard to describe, but it’s making me excited to get in the shower every morning – something that never happens.

The set also contains the Snow Showers shower jelly, a holiday exclusive that I’m definitely going to be stocking up on before it disappears. It smells like a mixture of oranges and cognac, which is totally energizing, and like all the shower jellies, it can be used as a shower gel or as a surprisingly effective shampoo (I love the way it makes my hair smell). The Happy Hippy is another shower gel in the package that I’ve been using along with the Snow Showers jelly. It’s made with a mixture of refreshing citrus fruits, like grapefruit, so it has an uplifting scent that will help you recover from a night out with no sleep. The perfect pairing with any of the cleansing shower gels, Ocean Salt face and body scrub takes sea salt, grapefruit and lime juices, and avocado and coconut butters and washes away dirt as it softens your skin. (For people with sensitive skin, you might want to stick to using it on your body – it makes a great hand scrub).

The scent that always wakes me up the quickest is mint, so on the mornings I’m really dragging, I’ll be using the Ice Blue soap. It’s a cool blue color with a strong peppermint fragrance that’s cool and refreshing. (Perfect for the Los Angeles heat). The last two items in the Christmas Party set are emotibombs – the newly introduced products that you put on the floor of the shower to turn it into a fragrant steam room. The two scents included are Up You Gets, a combination of lemon, lime and grapefruit, and Too Drunk, a blend of peppermint, marigold, fennel and sweet orange essential oils that’s guaranteed to help you get going when you drank too much and just want to crawl back into bed.
