Delirius Dressing

Delirius Design is an up and coming fashion brand that I only learned about recently, but instantly fell in love with.  Their pieces are distinct and architectural, yet surprisingly still very comfortable and wearable. I wore a Delirius draped dress to a recent charity party I attended, and the compliments did not stop rolling in (see dress below).  Delirius incorporates classic lines with sexy draping and comfortable jersey fabric with edgy chain accents. The designers take risks that are not common with comparable brands.  They don’t follow trends and they bring a real artistic vision to their pieces, yet still make them accessible to the every day woman.

For Spring ’09, Delirius draws its inspiration from different fabrics and light textures. Pieces are romantic and accented with lace and brocade.   The collection combines modern structured lines with flirty feminine touches and Delirius’ signature draping. A few of my favorite pieces are pictured above.

I was also lucky enough to snag an interview with the designers of Delirius, Iyra Paboikina and Katya Patsukevich:

The Daily Obsession: How would you describe your personal style?
Iyra & Katya: Comfort is the most important thing for us. Easy, effortless pieces with unique fabric combinations, original details and lines.

TDO: In your opinion, what does being well-dressed mean to you?
IK: A pair of killer heels and a dress by Delirius.

TDO: What type of woman wears Delirius?
IK: She is strong, independent and adventurous. She takes risks in life and is not afraid to stand out. She is sexy and sophisticated, loves life and knows how to enjoy every moment. She knows who she is and what she wants.

TDO: You make your pieces effortless, sexy, edgy and feminine all in one go. What are your design inspirations?
IK: Women themselves, their lifestyle and needs. With our designs, we want to emphasize the beauty of a woman’s body without compromising the comfort and versatility necessary for everyday life. We love draping, and we take inspiration from Grecian goddesses soft lines and styles.

At the same time, we feel that if we add structure and use an architectural approach, it will help us create the perfect combination for the modern woman – all feminine charm, grace and beauty combined with a strong independent, intelligent side.

TDO: What are the top 3 things you are coveting for spring?
IK: Asymmetrical beige Mary-James by Jean Paul Gaultier, vintage braided envelope clutch and lace boucle dress by Delirius.

Delirius can currently be purchased online at Unsung Designers and select New York boutiques (lucky us!).  For more info, check out their website.
