Accessories, Fashion, Lust List, TechLust List: December 2008

ONE. Preen Asymmetric Sequin Dress — It’s been a while since I updated my LBD dress collection, and this Preen dress would be the perfect modern addition to my closet. I’ve been noticing this British label’s slightly quirky and modern designs, and I truly covet this gorgeously slinky and iridescent frock. I can imagine wearing this to my New Year’s party this year and feeling comfortable, yet charmed the whole night by the glow of the delicately sewn sequins (which would look great in all my holiday photos). Sadly, unless I have a Scrooge in my life who decides to gift me with this dress out of the goodness of his heart, I will have to look for a more affordable LBD replacement for my New Year’s party this year. - joie

TWO. Apple MacBook Pro — This month, I’m totally lusting after Apple’s new 15 inch MacBook Pro. I already have a Powerbook G4, but it’s a few years old and that means it’s time for an upgrade. The new laptops come complete with camera (great for iChatting with friends across the country) and are smaller, thinner and more powerful than ever. The new glass trackpad is so much easier to use and the 15.4 inch screen (the perfect size to travel with) is so crisp and clear, it makes watching movies on it almost as good as watching them on TV. The battery life is better, too; you get up to 5 hours of wireless connection between charges, which means that I can get even more hanging out at Starbucks and writing time from it. I’d be at the Apple store right now buying one if only it didn’t cost $2,499 and my old laptop wasn’t still working fine. Is it wrong to wish that it would break down sometime soon? Probably… - productwhore

THREE. Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q Lil Riz — I’ve had my eye on this bag for months now. In addition to the soft, luxurious leather, I adore the colorful lining and indigo hue, which is a bit unexpected. But the shape is classic, so you know you can keep this bag in rotation for years to come. Now, if only it didn’t have a $400+ price tag, I would make this bag mine! - thedailyobsession

FOUR. Cartier Tank Francaise Watch — If I had over $38,000 just to spend, I would buy myself this classic diamond Cartier tank watch. Though this piece is practically dripping in diamonds, it looks elegant, not flashy. Plus, who can ever go wrong with a Cartier tank? I can just visualize this watch against winter cashmere sweaters or a crisp wool blazer. It’s both the ultimate style and power statement. Just fantasizing about this watch is motivating me to conjure up some business plans, so one day I’ll have forty thousand dollars in change to purchase it. - perfumed

FIVE. Loeffler Randall Piper Double Zip Platform Boot — Truthfully, I lust after pretty much everything from Loeffler Randall, but these boots have been my favorite lately. I’ve always wanted a pair of tall boots that would instantly dress up a pair of skinny jeans. The Piper Double Zip Platform Boots are pretty much perfect for that! The platform adds some additional drama (and much-needed height, for me) and the zippers on both sides look so stylish and unique. The leather is a dark grey elephant shade that is exclusive to Shopbop and would match with pretty much any shade in your wardrobe. These boots are a more stylish, modern take on the classic tall boot that I’ll just have to love from afar. - ninabee

a cartier tank watch is on my christmas list this year (w/o diamonds of course). I don’t think I’ll be getting it, but it is still on my list :)
