Travel With These Scents

If you’re like most people, you’ll be traveling at some point during this holiday season or soon after. And while I admit that packing in general is not a fun task, the one item that I hate packing the most is perfume. There are so many issues with packing perfume – a lot of the bottles are too big or heavy to fit easily in a suitcase, plus if you don’t pack them securely, they might break and ruin other things in your bag. Sometimes if I know I’m going on a trip far enough in advance, I go to Sephora and stock up on samples that I can easily bring with me, but let’s be honest, those don’t last that long and it takes multiple trips to the store to get a big enough supply of them, and who has time for that? Luckily, this year I’ve managed to find several great portable fragrance options that all made packing for my trip back east a breeze.

Pacifica’s Solid Perfumes come in a wide variety of scents, including my favorites, Avalon Juniper and Tuscan Blood Orange. The solids are made with organic soy and coconut wax and blended with essential and natural oils, so they’re surprisingly strong and long lasting. I wrote about my obsession with the Harajuku Lovers perfumes a few months ago and I admit it, I’m still obsessed. (Especially with Lil’ Angel – it just smells so good!) So I knew that I had to have the Solid Coffret set as soon as I saw it in the store. For $60, you get all five of the Harajuku Lovers scents in solid fragrance form. Like the Pacifica solids, they’re small and easily portable, but what makes this set so great is how adorable each little compact is with the face of each Harajuku girl on its respective fragrance. You just can’t look at them and not smile (even my mom loved them!) I’ve had the Lil’ Angel one in my purse since I got the set and it’s great for refreshing the scent in the middle of the day – perfect for days when you’re running around and want to keep smelling great.

CLEAN perfumes have been a staple in my fragrance rotation since I first smelled them years ago, but I never packed them when I was traveling because I was always too afraid that the bottles would break. Then I discovered the Shower Fresh Roller Ball and now I can take the musky floral scent anywhere I go. The slim roller ball is small enough that it even fits in my pocket and is pretty indestructible (being the klutz that I am, I already dropped mine on the hardwood floor and it survived intact).
