New York Mixology
Do you ever long for the time in NYC when speakeasies were the rage, and bartending and mixing drinks were closer to an art form? Now you can at least create that kind of ambiance in your own home, with Joya’s New York Mixology collection of candles. The 3 candles in this collection are inspired by classic drink recipes and are painstakingly poured in installments over a period of 4 days. They also come with candle plates crafted from ceiling tiles for a look that is quintessentially New York.
I have the Passionfruit Gin Martini candle and I’m currently obsessed with it. It’s a large, square pillar with a white candle plate, with layered blue shades for a gorgeous effect. The Passionfruit Gin martini is a pairing of lemongrass and mangosteen scents, with layers of blended juniper berry and yuzu. The scent is fruity, but not overwhelmingly so.
