Be My Valentine

Valentines have come a long way since the days of passing your 3rd grade crush a tiny card that says “Bee Mine” (there’s a picture of a bee on it) or “I Choo-Choo-Choose You” (a train, obviously). Your cards can now be simple and sweet, gorgeously designed, with even a little twist of some grown-up humor. We’ve gathered a couple of Valentines that are sure to make you and your Valentine smile. From left:

Any of the Romance cards from Hard Cards are sure to get a laugh. Our personal favorite is the one above. The front of the card says, “I love you just the way you are.” The inside? “…well, I do now that I got to change you a little.” The Hard Cards have a funny familiarity that can make your Valentine smile like it’s an inside joke that you’ve shared.
My favorite is the Pig Love card from Linda & Harriett. Letterpressed and printed on L&H’s quality cardstock, it has two piggies with their noses just almost rubbing. The message is simply sweet: I like me with you. Who doesn’t want to be reminded of that? It’s adorable and loving without being overly sappy.
Erin Condren’s All You Need valentine captures her modern design aesthetic. I love the matching pink envelope and the fact that you can personalize it with your name and your very own address labels. Plus, it bears a universal message of love that you can send to anyone you care for.
