Accessories, Eco & Organic, FashionEditor’s Closet: February 2009

ONE. Keep Me Kate Lounge Pants — In my down time, I’ve been lounging around in these pants by Keep Me, otherwise known as the pants that will make you say, “OMG, I can’t believe how comfy these are!” These are made of the softest modal fabric and are perfect for any day when you just want to kick it. For me, they’ve been getting the most wear at home. I think they’re totally made for cozy movie nights or bright Sunday morning brunches (with a cup of coffee and reading magazines).

TWO. Levi’s eco Skinny Low-Rise 531 Jean — I pretty much live in jeans. I’d say on average, I wear denim at least five out of seven days during the week. Though I have a decent denim stash, my current favorite is a pair of skinny jeans from Levi’s. Offered in an array of colors at the Levi store, they’re soft without being too thin and fit like a dream, despite the fact that I’m both petite and curvy (not an easy body type to dress for).  They also get bonus points for being made from organic and recycled cotton. At the rate I’m wearing these, I’ll probably wear them out by this summer/ fall season; but that’s totally okay since they only cost $60 – a fraction of what I normally pay – so I can afford to scoop up a couple more pairs without worrying too much about my budget.

THREE. Tiffany & Co. Bubble Pendant — This pendant has rarely left my neck since I received it many years ago, as it was a special birthday gift from somebody very dear to me.  This necklace is elegant and subtle against the decollete. I think it is the most versatile piece of fine jewelry I own.  Plus, diamonds should be worn in your everyday life if possible, don’t you think? I simply love it!

FOUR. Bindya Ikat Print Scarf — As we transition from a chilly winter to a warmer spring, this gorgeous scarf (a Christmas gift) has proven itself to be quite versatile. It’s lightweight and soft, but still very warm – and it adds a nice pop of color when draped around the neck. I forecast that this scarf will become a staple accessory in my closet.

FIVE. Joomi NYC La Belle Epoque Headband — There’s no better way to glam up your day than with something from Joomi NYC. I have a few of their pieces, but I’ve been gravitating toward the La Belle Epoque headband from the winter collection whenever I feel like a bit of bling. It’s ultra luxurious-looking and the little sparkly jewel make my usually low-key outfits just a bit more fun.
