Hotel Arista

Luxury, rest, and relaxation, a stone’s throw away from Chicago, that won’t break the bank. Sounds impossible, but I just spent the past weekend at the new Hotel Arista in Naperville and it’s all true! It’s an upscale and modern oasis that you can escape to for a quick and relaxing getaway. Hotel Arista is a surprising balance of ultimate luxury and eco-friendliness. The hotel is actually on track to become the first LEED-certified luxury boutique hotel in the state of Illinois, and uses 30% less water and 21% less energy than other comparable hotels. My stay at the Hotel Arista was fantastic from start to finish.
I hopped on the Metra train with my boyfriend after work on Friday, and 40 minutes later, we were pulling up to the hotel. The first thing I noticed was how sleek and modern the lobby looked, with floor-to-ceiling windows, wood-slatted walls and onyx. The reception was very friendly, and we met our “personal host” for our stay. The hotel aims for personalized service, so the person who checks you in also shows you to your room and remains your main point of contact during your stay. It’s convenient when you don’t have to call three different numbers to get room service, housekeeping or just general questions. Your personal host at Hotel Arista takes care of everything, so you can leave your worries at home.
We were escorted to our corner room where we found nice, big windows (more natural light means less energy used on lighting) and a very large marble bathroom. The spacious room was furnished with modern furniture, flat-screen HD television, iPod dock and Cisco phone, which displays maps of the area, hotel information, dining menus, and everything you need to know for your stay (no wasteful paper print-outs). The headboard of the bed had individual reading lights, and it was cool seeing how each amenity helps to save energy. The bathroom lets in natural light and has a mirror with a built-in television screen, which scored extra points with the boyfriend. I was partial to the tub and selection of soaks and bubble baths that Hotel Arista provides.
Besides taking advantage of a large bubbly bath tub, we were also able to relax…with some Wii! Hotel Arista has Nintendo Wiis available that you can request to play in your room whenever you’d like. After wine and Wii, we were ready to retire to our comfy bed and pillows. The hotel actually has a pillow menu so I had no trouble falling asleep with the perfect pillow after a fun, relaxing night. I also found a lavender eye mask to use, which is just another example of the detail and thought put into everything in a Hotel Arista guestroom.
Hotel Arista is perfect for anyone who is looking for an affordable weekend trip (opening rates start at $139/night), relaxing romantic getaway, or anyone doing business in Naperville. Hotel Arista will be opening a spa later this year, so head on back with your girlfriends later on. It’s a modern city feel that’s in the suburbs, so you can experience that luxury while leaving your chaotic city life behind. The hotel is a perfect example of environmental awareness without sacrificing luxury, as well as the use of technology to operate a hotel more efficiently with less waste.
