Beauty, Insider's Obsessions, Spas & SalonsInsider’s Obsessions: Andréa & Liza Young

Andrea and Liza Young is the dynamic duo behind Beam Laser Spa, one of New York’s top hair removal facilities.  I’ve been going to the spa for months how and have not only been so impressed with the results, I’ve become good friends with the sisters!  Liza and Andrea each come from a different professional background, but they are joined by one personal obsession – hair removal. Born and raised in Brazil, Andréa and Liza grew up using every method of hair removal imaginable before finally discovering laser as the most effective solution. Beam has a string of loyal clients due to the personal service, expertise and outstanding results that it provides in a sleek, intimate environment, delivering safe, effective results for all skin tones. I caught up with them on one of my visits to find out their current obsessions.

ONE. Sarah Duchess of York Candle for Slatkin & Co. — This is one candle that people consistently compliment for its amazing scent. Not only does it smell delicious, but it comes in a gorgeous white tea canister with a lid to keep dust away. The bonus? At $16.50, it’s an incredible bargain find that we almost didn’t want to share!

TWO. CIA Maritima Bathing Suits — Since opening Beam Laser Spa, we’re even more excited about summer and being able to be in bathing suits without having to worry about shaving. Bikinis by Brazilian brand CIA Maritima are hands down the sexiest on the globe. Everything from the fabrics to the cut is of superior quality. Not many retailers are selling this brand in the US yet, but if you’re ever in Brazil, treating yourself to one of the hundreds of bikinis in one of their fabulous stores is a must.

THREE. Creed Fragrances — We are both obsessed by fragrances, and Creed perfumes are on the top of our list. Creed has been around since 1760 and never uses synthetic scents for their mixtures. All of Creed’s fragrances are fabulous, but some of our favorites are Silver Mountain Water and Amalfi Flowers, which was launched in limited edition in 2007 and came with a beautiful leather flacon that’s so gorgeous you’ll want to keep it long after the perfume is gone.

FOUR. Trixie and Peanut — Both of us love all animals and have dogs as pets. Liza has Roxie, a Havanese, and I have Coco, a Boxer. Trixie and Peanut has the cutest and most extensive collection of outfits, dog beds, and other must-have accessories for Manhattan-dwelling pooches; plus, the resident dogs will always greet you with a smile!

FIVE. Flowers of the World — Receiving a bouquet from Flowers of the World is like receiving a living piece of art. We adore their modern aesthetic and unexpected flower groupings.
