Make Your Skin Glow

I’ve always loved Kenzo’s perfumes, but I had no idea that they had their own skin care line as well. (I love it when companies I already like expand their brand. It’s like a fun little bonus!) Kenzo’s Belle De Jour face cream is a luxurious new product that you massage onto your skin in the morning and night. The rich formula isn’t greasy at all, but it goes on smoothly, and it left my skin soft and glowing.
The key ingredient in Belle De Jour is White Lotus, which is looked upon as a sacred flower in Asia and cultivated especially for Kenzo in East Asia. It’s known for its soothing and anti-free radical properties that keep skin looking great. Unlike other creams, Belle De Jour helps to keep skin healthy by protecting it from free radicals and the stress hormone Cortisone, which is known to be harmful to skin. It’s a chemical that increases in your body when you’re stressed out and it can weaken your immune system and give you higher blood pressure, so you definitely want to avoid it as much as possible. (Ah, if only avoiding stress was as simple as telling yourself to avoid stress…) What’s really amazing is that during the testing of Bell De Jour, 75% of the women who used it showed a 25% drop in their cortisol levels after only one application. Very cool, right? Any time I can get scientific data to back up a product, I’m very excited.
The best part about the cream though to me is the smell. It’s so light and soothing – it really does relax you when you put it on and inhale the fragrance. And it comes in the most adorable lacquered jar that was designed by Fabien Baron with the cutest little spatula for application, so you don’t have to dip your (possibly dirty) fingers into the pot and contaminate the rest of the cream. It’s a really nice touch. I’ve decided that all of my face creams should come like this, so I hope other companies are reading this!
Bell De Jour is available starting this month. It retails for $105 and can be found exclusively at kenzousa.com.
