A Glossy Spring

Now that spring is almost here, it’s time to bulk up my lip wardrobe once again. There are a ton of cute new glosses that were recently released and here are three of the best that I’ve found.
LORAC’s new Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick is sort of a hybrid between a lipstick and a gloss. It’s liquid, like a gloss, but the color coverage is more like a lipstick. The formula is super moisturizing, with jojoba oil and sweet almond oil, which makes it almost like a chapstick because it keeps your lips from getting chapped. It’s available in seven different shades that range from light (Vintage – a neutral beige) to dark (Sheer Luxe – a burgundy wine), but my personal favorite is Elite, a rosy mauve that’s a great neutral for the day. They’re all scented with vanilla and I was pleasantly surprised by how long-lasting they were on my lips.
The new Big Bang Illusion Glosses come from Lipstick Queen Poppy King. Already a sensation in the makeup world for her lipsticks, the glosses are Poppy’s next step in giving you the perfect smile. She created the glosses with small particles of shimmer that are used to blur out lines and give your lips the illusion of being fuller and more voloptuous. (Perfect for those of you who hate the feeling of tingly lip plumpers). The glosses are available in eight different shades – my favorite is Cosmos, a shimmering red that looks bright in the tube, but goes on a deep cherry color. I also really like Infinite, a glittery peachy nude.
Urban Decay’s new Pocket Rocket glosses might be my favorite out of the bunch, just for the quirky, fun packaging. Each of the eight shades has a picture of a different man on the cap of the gloss and depending on the way you tilt the tube, the man appears either fully dressed or in his underwear. How funny is that? (The colors are all named after the men, too). The shades are all semi-sheer, but come with plumping action to fill in all the little wrinkles on your lips and make them appear smoother. The tube is also designed to be nearly flat, so unlike other glosses, it fits easily into your pocket without creating a huge bulge. (Such a great idea. Why didn’t more companies think of this?) The glosses come complete with a creme brulee flavor (yum!) I really like James, a sparkly pink, and Jesse, a shimmery mauvey-purple, but I could really see myself owning the entire collection. (What? Me go overboard on buying a product? Never…)

I really want to try the lipstick queen gloss. I need a great neutral gloss that will make my lips look fuller. And the UD glosses look pretty cool too. Well, so do the Lorac ones actually (great transition into grown-up lipstick for this gloss girl). You know what? I’ll take them all :)
