Lust List: March 2009

ONE. White + Warren First Class Travel Wrap — This month, I really want this gorgeous White + Warren cashmere travel wrap.  As spring/ summer approaches, I know I will be doing more traveling and this wrap is the perfect piece to drape around the shoulders when on the plane and if needed, as a lightweight scarf at my destination. I could also use it as a blanket in any chilly environment year-round, making it a supremely versatile item to own.  If only it didn’t cost $275… - Connie

TWO. Sigerson Morrison Huarache Boot — I first came across these shoes when Carine Roitfeld wore the shorter sandal version around the city during New York Fashion Week. However I prefer the boot  as it is much more distinctive. This style is undeniably sexy and offers its own interpretation of the seasons hottest shoe trend- the cage. You can wear these with tights during colder weather though I would max out the sexiness with a bare leg. At $1700 though I would need to wait for at least a 50% off sale before seriously considering. - Carolyn

THREE. Tiffany Swing Bracelet — Maybe it’s from watching all the different award shows this past month, but recently I’ve been lusting after jewelry (specifically, diamonds) more than usual. And when I think diamonds, my mind automatically goes to Tiffany’s and the famous little blue box. If someone were to hand me one right now, I’d want it to have this gorgeous Swing Bracelet inside. The bracelet is 1.35 carats of round diamonds set in platinum, and anyone who has ever seen a Tiffany diamond knows how brilliant and sparkling they are. As luxurious as it is, it’s also basic enough that I could wear it every day, which would at least make the $7,950 price tag slightly more justifiable. Or so I tell myself… - Stacey

FOUR. Sergio Rossi Back Zip Sandals — This sandal is a perfect interpretation of the gladiator trend that is here to stay for Spring, with a polished street chic look. I think of this sandal as an Herve Leger interpretation of the bandage dress, but in shoe form, with its wide elastic straps (designed to be comfortable and non-feet pinching.) Even sexier is the back of the sandal which has a gritty, silver back zipper and the dark purple interior sole (so expected)! I saw this shoe in real life on stylist Mary Alice Stephenson at the Vogue/BMW party and have been dying to get to Saks to see if it looks as good on me as it does on her! - Kathleen

FIVE. Burberry Skirted Trench — I know it’s just wishful thinking since I live in Chicago, but it’s March now and I’m ready for spring. I’ve been looking for a spring coat that can brave some showers, but is light enough to wear everyday. The Skirted Trench from Burberry has a swingy, almost oversize feel and would look great with a casual pair of jeans or over one of your cutest dresses. Worn belted or not, it still maintains that classic Burberry trench coat shape, with the check pattern under the collar and as the lining. Ideally, I think every gal should own a classic white coat, but at $1295, this one is over 3 times the cost of the most expensive coat in my closet. Maybe next time… - Nina
