Passion for Pure & True

Launched this month, Pure & True is a new organic skincare that is devoted to using only pure ingredients. This means their products are free of parabens, phthalates, artificial coloring and fragrances, sulfates and petroleum-derived products. (Wow – that’s a mouthful!) Based in Hawaii, this company primarily offers products that “contain a unique combination of antioxidant-rich teas, Hawaiian deep-sea water, marine minerals, tropical extracts, and rare and precious flower oils.” I have to admit…despite wanting to do better for the environment and for my skin, I’m one of those women who will just go with what works. Unfortunately, many natural products simply just don’t work for me. Nonetheless, I was impressed by what they were trying to do and with hope, thought, “Why not? I’ll give it a try.”

With the changing seasons, I decided to test the Passion Fruit and Hibiscus Masque and Microdermabrasion Scrub, one of the line’s bestsellers, since I wanted something to help slough off my dry winter skin and reveal a glowier version of myself – just in time for spring. I was also drawn to it since it was made for all skin types (except sensitive) and was particularly good for mature and blemish-prone skin, which I thought was great – because it’s so perfect for so many age groups.  Upon opening the box, a white jar with lime green graphics and a silver top revealed itself.  This specific product contains a blend of passion fruit distillate, papaya extract, hibiscus extract and 5% alpha hydroxy acid to deep clean; micronized walnut shells help to exfoliate.  (Because of the ingredients, I would recommend spot testing it on your arm first and once you’re in the clear, go ahead and use it on your face.)

Before using this, I cleansed my face with an ultra-calming cleanser to take off makeup and then opened the jar.  I was surprised to find the scrub/ masque to have a somewhat runny consistency in sugary brown color.  I sniffed and it does have an “natural” smell, but it’s not too granola-y.  I scooped some of the product out of the jar and applied it all over my face.  I waited a minute or so, before massaging on my face for an exfoliating action and then rinsing off with warm water.  I immediately could see that my skin was a bit glowier, without being too pink (a sign the product is too harsh for my skin) and was soon as I touched it, I could tell it was also a lot softer.  Of all the natural skin care products I’ve tried, this is possibly my very favorite.

I’ve been using this once a week since and I have to say, overall, my skin definitely looks much brighter and happier than before.  If you’re looking for a natural facial scrub that’s truly effective – give this one a try!  For more information or to purchase, visit www.pureandtrue.com.

COMMENTS

I am not too sure about this scrub but I can tell you with PURE certainty that I have tried the other products this line offers and it is TERRIBLE. It will either give you those little bumps on your skin, make you breakout and will over time, weaken your skin (making you sensitive to outside elements and create more breakouts). The moisturizers feel like it just stays on your skin and doesn’t absorb well. I was curious to try this line because of its pretty packaging and supposedly result-oriented message. Don’t be fooled and go a different route in skincare (you’ll save much money and aggravation). This line should be called PURE & TERRIBLE!!!

Beautiful and useful! Well done!
