Skin Foundation
You have probably heard of Bobbi Brown’s new Skin Foundation SPF 15 that debuted several weeks ago. It’s being touted as a foundation that provides the “offers invisible, weightless coverage that looks like skin, not foundation.” Well, now that I’m officially in my mid-twenties, I feel like I might need a bit more coverage in my day-to-day life – but don’t want to give up the light, breathable coverage that tinted moisturizer offers.
The Skin Foundation SPF 15 sounded like the answer to what I was looking for! Essentially, this foundation offers the lightest coverage possible – yet still helps even out skin tone, minimize pores and overall, helps conceal imperfections. How? This product is formulated with a “unique balance of pigments, emollients and light-reflecting optics.” So, does it work?
First of all, a huge requirement of mine is sunscreen in any base makeup I use. I need products that will help cut time from my daily beauty routine – so this product gets a plus right there. One pump of this foundation will definitely cover your face. (Two, if you need extra coverage that day!) The consistency of this foundation is extremely fluid and therefore, would be easiest if you use a sponge for application. I loved how light the texture is and was overjoyed to find out that it goes on sheer. It helped even out my skin tone, but I could still “see” my skin which is something that was really important to me. The foundation provides more of a matte finish than I was used to (since I usually go for a more dewy finish), yet still gave me a healthy look. Also, since I have semi-sensitive skin, I was really happy that it did not make me break out even once since I’ve started using it. All in all…this is definitely a great product for anybody who loves their tinted moisturizer, but feels the need to step it up in terms of coverage.
Available in 17 shades, Skin Foundation SPF 15 retails for $45 at Nordstrom.com.
