The W’s of Decorating

Recently, I’ve decided that I’m really sick and tired of living in essentially a beauty closet. My room has basically become a storage space with furniture.  So I boxed up all my makeup and skincare into a few huge containers, drawers and shelves, moved them to the corners and started the process of redecorating.  I used to always stay at the W Hotels, so I started there to get some ideas and came across the W Store, a place where you can actually buy some of those cool things you see in their Wonderful rooms.

First up, as much as I love the Heavenly beds, I don’t think I’m going to trade in my own for a whole new one.  But what I do need ASAP is the Body Pillow, which may be the best $45 dollar investment I’ll ever make for my sleep. I can also throw out individual pillows I have lining my bed as well, since laid horizontally against the headboard this would make a nice decorative pillow as well with the right cover.

I’m also very tempted to go for an all white bed – something that I’ve never done before. I really do like the chic and simple look of white sheets, and perhaps the thought of dirtying them will keep me from using my bed as storage space for my products.  I like both the Stitch Bedding (seen far top) as well as Superstar Bedding, both in white of course, and would accessorize with the Mink Throw, which would add a bit of unexpected texture and dimension.  The store is also doing 30% off right now with free shipping (my most favorite thing in the world) so I’m about to purchase as I write this.

Moving onto decoration, the W Store’s got me covered in that regard as well. I’m actually incredibly drawn to the 3 Gun Table Vase; I’m not sure what the laws of feng shui have to say about putting gun images in your bedroom, but my creative side thinks its very different.  And it would be cool to contrast the grunge factor of the vase with the much more opulant Bourgie Table Lamp, which claims create to a thousand reflections on the shade when lit. I’d have to see it to know what that means exactly, but it sounds magical.

And when I’m ready to have people over to check out the new look, I’ll set the tour to Karl Lagerfeld’s CD: LES MUSIQUES QUE J’AIME.  If Lagerfeld loves it, then I do too.
