I’m totally denim obsessed, so it only makes sense that I’d be totally into Rock & Republic’s cosmetics line. It only came out towards the end of 2008, but I’ve slowly started to build up a collection of their gorgeous shades and I visit the counter at the mall near me whenever I get a chance just to look at all the pretty colors. (For those of you searching for a great red shade, their Cougar lip gloss is a recent favorite of mine. It’s definitely not for the shy since it’s a bright, attention-getting red, but if you’re looking for a shade to get you noticed, this is the one).

Recently, they’ve introduced a few new limited edition lip and eye palettes that are made to reflect their “trademark combination of rebellious style and sophisticated femininity.” The Eye Colour Trios ($65) come in two different combinations – Scene 1 and Scene 2. Scene 1 includes shades meant for a night out – a shimmer grey, a dark shimmer grey, and a shimmer purple. Scene 2 is a different dramatic spectrum, with a shimmer beige, a rich purple, and a matte black.

Either of the Lip Gloss Sets ($35) would make a great gift for one of your best friends or, let’s face it, as a treat for yourself. The glosses come in two of Rock & Republic’s most popular shades, Conspiracy, a matte nude, or Confession, a shimmer pink, and come nestled in a black box with a purple logo on top. I tested out Conspiracy and it’s a great basic shade with a moisturizing finish – definitely a color that could easily take you from day to night. What really makes the sets stand out though is the packaging. The glosses come in a black circular disc (also with the logo) that just seems luxurious, like something you would take out at a fancy dinner party to touch up your lips. Each set also contains a retractable black lip brush that will let you keep your fingers gloss free while you give yourself the perfect pout.
