I recently discovered the contemporary brand, Modern Amusement, and now feel like I’ve been missing out on some fabulous designs that are perfect for a SoCal gal like myself. Right now, I find myself gravitating toward more and more dresses as summer approaches. Modern Amusement certainly has some gorgeous options to choose from.
My top pick is the Chambray Shirt Dress – not only because I currently have a slight obsession with shirt dresses, but also because it’s probably the most versatile of all their offerings. The 100% cotton chambray dress is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. It’s ultra sexy, yet still leaves something to the imagination. The long sleeves are perfect for when it gets chilly, but you can roll the sleeves up and fasten them with a button for warmer days. The tie around the waist is great for defining your waist, and you can even use a brightly-hued belt instead for a bolder statement. (It can be a bit short, so you may need to pair it with skinny jeans, shorts or leggings.) Wear it both to work and on the weekend, just by switching up the items you pair it with. I’ve been wearing my dress everywhere and have gotten endless compliments – from my friends to my significant other.
If you’re looking for something a bit more fun, try the Square Confetti Dress. Made of cotton poplin, this dress has a playful dotted print and is paired with a bright red belt to accentuate the waist. I’m also in favor of the Dance Dance Dress, which is done in silk duponi with an inset camisole. I think both would be perfect at a laid-back wedding or cocktail party.
For more casual days, the Everyday Spring Dress is ideal. The racerback cotton dress is simple, but seductive. You could throw this on over a swimsuit and head to the beach; or you could just as easily decorate your neckline with an oversized bib necklace and head out for a night on the town. The Two-Fer Dress also looks fab for a casual day of running around doing errands or grocery shopping. I love the fun bird print on the skirt and how the blocks of color is broken up by the black band.
