Jewelry For Your Hair

I’ve had long hair for years now and even though I often fantasize about chopping it all off for a chic, Reese Witherspoon-esque bob, I chicken out every time I’m at the salon.  I do get bored with my straight, boring locks on a weekly basis though, so I’m always looking for a way to liven up my look, especially when I’m going out at night.  I recently discovered ban.do after seeing a picture of one of their headbands on Taylor Swift and now I’m hooked on their whimsical creations.

Created by Jen Gotch and Jamie Coulter, two stylists from Los Angeles, every one of their pieces is unique and fun.  The designs are inspired by their love for vintage, color and playful fashion, and to make them even more one of a kind, Jen and Jamie often explore swap meets and estate sales in search of jewelry to pair with colorful feathers, soft leather bands, and vintage floral arrangements.  They’re the kind of accessories that turn heads, so if you’re looking to stand out, you can’t go wrong wearing one of these designs.  (Each one of them is handcrafted, so no two are exactly alike).

I’m having a hard time picking favorites, but if I was forced to choose, I’d pick no. 44 – it’s a band of small clear crystals surrounded by silver embroidery, clear beads and sequins that connect to dark gray velvet ribbon ties.  I also love no. 93 – a band of large black crystals surrounded by black embroidery and black beads connects to black velvet ties.  I like going out in a simple black top and jeans with heels, so either one of these would immediately make my outfit less ordinary and boring.  I like the fact that there are different price points too – the heart by ban.do line was created with affordability in mind.  Each piece is less than $50, but they’re every bit as stylish as the more expensive ban.do black label.  The pieces range from classic and subdued to bold, eye-catching designs, so there’s something for everyone.  (I could never pull off wearing walking softly through the meadow, but I would totally buy it just to wear it around my apartment and look at myself in the mirror because it’s so fun).  You can even have a piece custom designed for yourself for your birthday, wedding, or any other occasion you can think of.  I think I’m going to get one designed for road trips.  I’ve always wanted a Driving Hat and this would be a much more stylish option.

I agree your picks are gorgeous, but the day I spend a $165 on a headband will the day my husband shoots me!

cheaper than Jennifer Behr but I know what you mean :-/ Btw are you always up this early in the morning? :)

Yeah I’m always up around 7. :) But I’m positive I wasn’t on my computer until at least 8. It’s 12:47 according to my computer right now so I wonder what time it’ll say I posted this.
